SEELEY nlilSL Cut Out and Kerp for Rfferanet I APPLIED POP The memory of the more than 2000 Pennsylvania soldiers, members of the 23th Division, who gave their lives for the success of the Marne offensive, will be honored in the little French cemetery in which they lie buried, by a group of veterans from Philadelphia and vicinity who will make a pilgrimage there. The memorial tribute Is being planned to take place at about the time in August when the force of the German drive on Paris had been broken and troops of the Central Powers had been beat into retreat by Pennsylvania troops. It will be about their graves in the Fere en Tardenois Cemetery, on the line of the great offensive, that surviving comrades will gather to revive the ideals and principles for which they fell. Members of James J.

Barry Post, No. 83, of the American Legion, headquarters for which is at 5221 Baltimore are sponsoring the pilgrimage. More than 500 persons have already signed for the trip. It was in honor of a member ot the Pennsylvania National Guard Division, the 28th, Sergeant James J. Barry, of Company of the 109th Infantry, that the post was named.

He was killed on July 30. during an engagement near Couv-mont. It, was as a pilgrimage his grave that the trip was originr' ly planned. Chosen Darby P. O.

AMERICAN LEGION County Council At the last regular meeting of the Philadelphia County Council held on Tuesday evening, January 24, Commander J. C. Purcell was empowered to organize a committee to arrange for the 1933 Department Convention of the American Legion in this city. This committee may be incorporated for the raising and handling of funds and Mr. Purcell has already requested tne seven district chairmen to recommend three members of their respective districts to serve on same.

The personnel will be announced at an early date. The convention dates have not been agreed on as yet, but it is probable that they will be in the latter part of August in order that such measures as Pennsylvania may desire to support at the National Convention may be discussed, Legion Ball It is expected that many Legionnaires from outlying communities will attend the 11th annual ball in the Bellevue-Stratford Hotel on the evening of February 14, and in-formmation bulletins have been mailed to all posts in the 8th and 9th Congressional districts. ii.i Uhua. Abitmbly. Ko. JOHN B.R0BINS0N John B. Robinson, for many years a picturesque political figure in Delaware county, died yesterday at his home, 5815 Webster in this city.

Mr. Robinson was born in Pitts-' burgh, May 23, 1846. He served a short time to the Army during the Civil War and then went to An- i napolis. Following his graduation he spent 15 years in the Navy, re- I tiring with the rank of lieutenant. Entering Delaware county poli-1 tics, he was sent to the State Sen-1 ate.

Later he won a bitter fight over the Republican organization and went to Congress. He is reputed to have spent more than $200,000 in the political campaign, I in which such figures as Honry Ward Beecher and Robert Ingcrsoil "stumped" for him. He was de- frated for Congress by the late Thomas Butler. Mr. Robinson later served as United States Marshal and master of the Port of Philadelphia.

He was president of the Republican Club of Pennsylvania and was a member of Bradbury Post, No. 149, G. A. R. He married Elizabeth W.

Gilpin in St. Louis, Mo in 1874. Mrs. Robinson died in 1924. He is survived by three daughters, Mrs.

Wil liam P. Hull, of Germantown; Mrs. A. W. Wyckoff.

of Pittsburgh, and Mrs. Clay Anderson, of New York. DR. T. S.WESTCOTT Dr.

Thompson Seiser Westcott, prominent pediatrist, died yesterday at his home, 1720 Pine st. He will be buried Tuesday at 2 P. M. from 3925 Chestnut st. Dr.

Westcott, who had been ill for a month, was born June 11, 18G2, the son of the late Thompson Westcott, historian, author of "The History of Philadelphia," and at one time editor of the Sunday Dispatch. He was graduated from the University of Pennsylvania in 1882, and then took the medical course at the University, receiving his diploma in 1886. After serving his term as interne at the Pennsylvania Hospital, he entered private practice in this city. For more than 30 years, until his resignation, five years ago. he was on the staff of the Methodist Hos pital as professor of pediatrics.

He was a fellow of the College of Physicians, a member of the Pediatric Society and other medical bodies, and of the Penn Club. He is survived by his widow. Mrs. Marie Louise Repplier Westcott. and three daughters, Mrs.

A. R. Young and Eleanor and Frances Westcott. REV. G.

MRUSSELL Rev. Gordon M. Russell, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church of Merchantville, N. died yesterday afternoon at his home, 10 W. Maple after a two weeks' illness of pneumonia.

He was 53 years old and would have completed 13 years in his Merchantville pastorate in March. Mr. Russell, a graduate of Princeton University in the class of 1901, was the brother of Dr. Henry Norton Russell, director of the Princeton Observatory, world-famous astronomer and former head of the American Philosophical Society. Mr.

Russell was born at Oyster Eay, N. the son of a Presbyterian minister. During the World War he was a Y. M. A.

chaplain overseas. He came to Merchantville in 1920, from the First Presbyterian Church of Cranford, N. J. He was unmarried, and is survived by Dr. Russell and another brother, Alexander Russell, of Rochester.

Funeral services will be held at his own church in Merchantville on Tuesday afternoon, followed by private interment. CRAIGJJMORE Craig Atmore, president of At-more Son, mince-meat manufacturers since 1908. died yesterday at his home. 314 Louella Wayne, after a brief illness. He was 58.

Starting at the age of 20 in the business which had been founded by his great-grandfather in 1842, Mr. Atmore worked up to the presidency, succeeding his father, the late Robert E. Atmore. He was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, class of 1895, a director of the Philadelphia Life Insurance Company, a vestryman in St. Stephen's Episcopal Church and a member of the Manufacturers' Club.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Emma Petzel Atmore; two daughters and a son. Funeral services will be held at 2 P. Tuesday, at 1820 Chestnut st. MISS CATHARINE TINNEY Miss Catharine Tinney.

a retired nurse, of 6023 McCallum st died on Thursday at Germantown Hospital at the age of 105 years. Miss Tinney was a nurse in this city for more than 30 years, coming here from Germany in 1856 at the age of 28. She retired about 45 years ago to her home on McCallum st where she lived alone. Solemn requiem mass will be sung on Monday at 10 A. M.
