THE DALY NEVyS, HunHhadefi, Union ttndJSartoh, 20, George Leslie Lake George Leslie Lake, 72. of Harrisonville Star Route, died on Saturday, March 18, 1978, at the Fulton County Medical Center, McConnellsburg, where he had been a patient for three Weeks. He had been ill for the past two months. He was born April 9,1905, in Harrisonville, the son of Martin and Maye (Sipes) Lake. He is-survived by his wife, Violet (Hann) Lake, and two sons, Edgar J.

and Omert both of Harrisonville. One grandchild also survives, as well as two brothers, Joseph Lake of Trafford and Wayne Lake of Mercersburg. A member of the Asbury United Methodist Church in Harrisonville, he was a farmer, and had worked for PennDOT for a number of years. He had been a Licking Creek Township Supervisor for the past 12 years. Funeral services, will be held at 2 p.m.

on Tuesday, March 21, from the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Harrisonville. The Rev. Leonard L. Wright will officiate, and interment will be made in the Asbury United Methodist Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home today, Monday, from 2 to 9 p.m. Edgar Jesse Berkstresser Edgar Jesse Berkstresser, 81, of Hustontown, died 9:58 a.m. on Sunday, March 19, 1978, at the Fulton County Medical Center, Mc- Connellsburgi He had been ill for the past six weeks. He was born on Dec. 1896, in Dublin Mills, the son of William Lee and Mary (Laidig) Berkstresser.

He married Junie (Sipes) Berkstresser, who died-May 16, 1954. Surviving are two sons, Herbert E. of Hustontown, and Donald W. of Gaither.sburg, Md. Two daughters, Mrs.

Edwinna Tice of Hustontown and Mrs. Vivian Covert of Everett, also survive. Two children preceded him in death. Also surviving is one sister, Mrs. Grace Chestnut of Hustontown.

13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren also survive. He was a member of the Protestant faith, and a farmer by occupation. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 23, from the Howard L. Sipes Funeral Home, Harrisonville.

The Rev. Leonard Wright will officiate and interment will be, made in the Hustontown United Methodist Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home from 2 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday. Lydia Belle Patterson Mrs.

Lydia Belle Patterson, 74, of Saxton R.D., died 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 18, 1978, at the Morrisons Cove Home in Martinsburg. She had been in failing health for the past several years. She was born on July 19, 1903, in Coalmont, the daughter of Ulysses Grant and Narrie Cornelius Ramsey. She married James F.

Patterson on Feb. 1,1922, in Coalmont. Her husband survives, as well as three children: Mrs. Lester (Thelma) Barnett of Loysburg, Mrs. Robert (Annie) Hoover of Woodbury, and Mrs.

David (Betty) Ramsey of Huntingdon. Six grandchildren also survive, as well as two sisters and one brother: Mrs. Clarence Donaldson and Mrs. Harold Stever, both of Saxton R.D., and Austin Ramsey of Mapleton Depot, She was a member of the United Methodist Church of Coalmont and of the Women's Bible Class. She was previously employed by the Scamper's Manufacturing Cp.

Huntingdon Native, 14, Hit, Killed Huntingdon County, native, 14 year old Howard Emil Fink, Osterburg, R.D.I, was killed Saturday evening when he was struck by a hit run vehicle on Route 220, near the Bedford County community of St.

Clairsville. Fink, a pedestrian, was fatally injured about 8 p.m., Saturday, March 18, 1978. He was pronounced "dead at the Bedford County Hospital at 9:30 p.m. Death due to a fractured neck, fractured skull and other injuries. State police are continuing their investigation of the fatality.

Putty and fiberglas found at the accident scene lead investigators to believe the hit run vehicle was not a late The southbound vehicle hit Fink, who was walking on the west berm. The hit run car has a broken right headlight and damage to the right front fender and possibly damage to the hood and windshield. The accident victim was born in Huntingdon on March 20, 1963, a son of. Howard Grant and Leota Amelia (Scitticatt) Fink.

In addition to his parents, residents of Osterburg, R.D.I, he is survived by his paternal grandfather, Cuthb'ert Fink, Hopewell, R.D.I; his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs, Emil Scitticatt, Six Mile Run, R.Di, and these sisters and brother: Patricia Corbin, Everett, R.D.2; Harriet Fluke, New Paris, R.D.', Steve Allen and Grace Eleanor, both at home. The deceased was a member of the Brethren Church of Yellow Creek. He was an eighth grader at the Chestnut Ridge High School and he was in the school chorus and worked in the metal shop. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday, March 22, at the Yellow Creek Brethren Church.

Brown Mabel Elizabeth Brown, 56, of Wood, died 10:25 p.m. on, Saturday, March 18, 1978, the. J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. She had been in failing health for the past three She was borri on June 23, 1921, in Blair County, the daughter of Mr.

and Mrs. Sylvester Smith. She married John G. Brown on Sept. 16, 1974, He preceded her in death on July 3, 1977.

One daughter also preceded her in death. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Mrs. Brown was a member of the Protestant faith. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m.

on Tuesday, March 21, from the Albert N. Masood Funeral Chapel, Saxton. The Rev. Robert Raycroft will officiate and interment will be made in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Broad Top City.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today, Monday. Samuel Samuel 2. Moser, 23, of 931 Mifflin Huntingdon, died instantly of multiple injuries incurred in a two vehicle accident at 12:45 a.m. Sunday, March 19,1978, on Route 26 at Markelsburg.

Born March 18, 1955, in Huntingdon, he was the son of Peter B. and Valeria (Heath) Moser. He married Frances Jane Shultz on Aug. 13,1977. Surviving are his wife and a son, Douglas Alan Moser; both parents; and paternal grandmother, Mrs.

Harry Moser of Huntingdon; and the maternal grandfather, Charles Heath of Broad Top City. Also surviving are a brother, Gordon M. Moser, stationed with the U. S. Army in Crete, and Annette K.

Moser of Huntingdon. Mr. Moser was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church, Huntingdon. He was employed by the Maurice Laroque contracting firm. Educated in the Huntingdon public schools, he was a 1973 raduate of Huntingdon Area igh School.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, from the John B. Brown Funeral Home, Huntingdon. The Rev. Harold G.

Williams, will officiate and interment will be made in Huntingdon Memorial Gardens, Huntingdon R.D. 1. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday after 7 p.m. and on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the hour of the service.

Ruth Delena Hiquet, 63, of Saxton R.D., died Unexpectedly at 6:30 this, morning, Monday, March 20, 1978, at the J. C. Blair Memorial Hospital, Huntingdon. Sne was born on Jan. 18, 1915, in Hopewell, the daughter of Joseph and Marie Simpson Ross.

She married Ralph A. Hiquet on August 6, 1942, in Winchester, Va. She is survived by her husband, her mother, of Riddlesburg, and two Ralph L. Hiquet of Hopewell R.D. Chester Guytte of Five grandchildren survive, as Well as 11 brothers and sisters: Mrs.

Wilma Cartwright, James Ross and Eugene Ross, all of Buffalo, N. Joseph Ross, of Riddlesburg; Mrs. Betty Chadwick of Saxton; Mrs. Pauline Foor of Loysburg; Mrs. Geraldirie Foore and Mrs.

Katherine Hofacher, both of Everett R.D. Mrs. Margaret McClain of Mechanicsburg; Robert of Breezewood and Mrs. Donna Hess of Hustontown R.D. Two one sister preceded her in death.

She was a member of the Brethren' Church in Riddlesburg. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 22, from the Albert N. Masood Funeral Chapel, Saxton. The Rev.

Huntingdon Borough police wej-e called Sunday, to investigate a hit run accident. John Ellis, 300 Mifflin Huntingdon, had his 1967 Chevrolet parked in front of his home, facing west. Ellis discovered yesterday afternoon that the right front of his car had been damaged between $85 and $90 in a hit run incident. The crash took place between Saturday evening when the Ellis car was parked there and Sunday afternoon when the damage was discovered. Hazel McMath Mrs.

20, 1895, in Clarksvill6 Mercer County, the daughter of Thomas Calvin and Nettie (Reed) Redmond. She was twice married, first to James P. McCann of Mercer, who died on June 12,1936, and then to Paul A. McMath of Orbisonia R.D. on Nov.

27, 1939, at Jamestown. Her husband survives, as well as three children: Mrs. Ross (Betty) Sams of Fairmont, W. and Paul E. and Donald F.

McCann, both of Sharon. One son, James is deceased. Seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren also survive, as well as one sister, Mrs. Dorothy Donahue of Greenville. Six brothers and sisters are deceased.

Mrs. McMath was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of Shade Valley, and a member of the Gold Star Mothers. A former employee of Routman's Clothing Store at Sharon, she had also been employed by the Greif Manufacturing Company at Mount Union. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 on Tuesday, March 21, 1978, from the St.
