Much of the travel today turns on joint development and manufacture of electronics, aerospace, and other high technology products. California-designed aircraft have been manufactured in Canada for years. "It's a two-way street," Gould said. "A leading Los Angeles area manufacturer is now beginning to produce an advanced technology three-wheeled personal vehicle under license from a Canadian inventor." Increasing passenger travel is being accompanied by freight growth, Gould said, with cargo ranging from computer components to fresh California fruit and flowers designated for eastern Canada and Europe.
