A Feast of Instruction and Excellent Counsel. One of the largest conferences of the Websr Slake, Obnrch of Jesas Christ of Litter Day Saints, was held in theOjden tabernacle Sunday and Monday. Hundreds were turned away from each meet- inz and especially was this the case on Sunday. The instructions given were interesting and timely and no doubt ranch good will result therefrom. President Shnrtliff presided at all meetings and on Sunday morning reported tbe in good condition.

He was followed by Apoatle A. H. Cannon. In the afternoon James Taylor, clerk of the conference, presented the general and local authorities, and they were sua- tiiDed. Apoatle Franklin Richards occupied the remainder of the time.

On Monday morning Apoetle John W. Taylor sddnssed the congregation. The was occupied by Samuel Richards and Apostle A. H. Cannon.

"Held by the Enemy." The following dispatch received early this morning speaka for itself: BOISE, April 18 --The Salt Lake Home Dramatic Olub opened to an immense bouse at advanced prices to-night. The attendance was one of the heaviest in the hi'tory of Boise theatricals. The play of "Held by the Enemy" made an enormous inccess, amonj: those who most warmly congratulated tbe company after tbe performance being army officers at the post here. George John Rankin and Grant Chronister were arrested late last mgbtfor "scrapping," Chronister was vilkikg down Twenty-fifth street and when in front of the Baed Lewis and Rankin, who were going in the same direction, poshed against him. knocking him from tbe sidewalk. Chronister followed them np acd the h-i engaged in a little war of words, ending in Lewie striking Chronister across the head with his cane, cutting a gash over two inches long.
