Ernest D. Patrick. She married Henry Reitsch who preceded her in death. Survivors include one son, Charles P. of Rockford; and two grandchildren.

Carmickle, 62, W. Grant Marengo, died Friday morning, July 11, in St. Joseph Hospital, Belvidere, following a long illness. She was born May 4, 1918, in Paris, the daughter of Floyd and Ruby Williams. She married Ernest Carmickle Sept.

22, 1962 in Paragould, Ark. She was employed for 20 years as a chef retiring in 1965. Survivors include two daughters, Sue Ann Jones of Marengo, and Louise Waters of Elliott; two sons, Dr. Gary Gill of Paris, and Bill Meyer of Belvidere; and five grandchildren. She predeceased by her parents and husband.

KIESER Obituaries Joseph Thomas Kieser, 44, of Los Angeles, a former Marengo resident, was found dead on Monday, July 7, in Westchester, a suburb of Los Angeles. Westchester police said there were no signs of violence, but they are still investigating and have listed death as "due to undetermined Mr.

Kieser was born in Belvidere, Aug. 23, 1935, the son of William and Lillian Belond Kieser. He served in the U.S. Marine Corp in 1952-53, and was presently employed in the maintenance department of Northrop University in Ingleside, Calif. He was a past member of the Belvidere Moose Lodge.

Surviving are one son, Clifford of Belvidere; five brothers, Danny and Ralph, both of California, Richard of Carpentersville, David of Union, and James of Garden Prairie; and two sisters, Mrs. Donald (Margaret) Fischer of Marengo, and Laura Mae Kieser of California. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Bill, Bob, and Albert, and one sister, Mrs. Lenora Hornberger. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in the Cooper Funeral Home in Marengo with the Rev.

Fr. John Cahill officiating. Burial was in Marengo City Cemetery. HELEN L. BURNS Mrs.

Helen Lura Burns, 99, 555 W. Prairie Marengo, died Sunday afternoon, July 13, at the Florence Nursing Home where she had been a resident for about two years. She was born in Marinette, Wisc. May 16, 1881, the daughter of Charles and Alice Graves Seeney. She married Frank L.

Burns on Dec. 25, 1906, and in 1923 he became assistant county superintendent of schools in Jo Daviess County with his wife as his assistant. He continued in that position until 1951. He died in March of 1952, and in 1955 Mrs. Burns moved from Galena to Marengo.

She was a member of the South Presbyterian Church in Galena; a member of the Galena Woman's Club; a life member of the Galena Order of Eastern Star; a member of the National Education Association (NEA); and a member of the National Retired Teachers' Association. Surviving are three sons, Franki L. Jr. of Sebring, Robert E. of St.

Louis, and Edward M. of Dubuque, Iowa; two daughters, Mrs. Marion Lowe of Marengo, and Mrs. Donald (Doris) Perkins of Waukegan; 14 grandchildren; 41 greatgrandchildren; and four In addition to her parents and husband, 'she was preceded in death by one daughter, Helen Elizabeth; and three sisters, Marion, Doris, and Bessie. William (Frances) Laughlin of St. Charles; and one brother, Eugene Theiss of Presque Isle, Wisc.
