JJO The juniors will present "Why Not'8 Jim," Friday. April 29, at 8:15 p. m. at the high school auditorium. The cast has a great deal of pep and that is what is needed for a good play.

The admission is loc and 25c and tickets can be bought from any member of the junior class. Everybody welcome. I CLARK BROS. Miss Deforest, a missionary from Kobe, Japan, gave an interesting talk in assembly last Thursday afternoon. Most all of Miss life has been spent in Japan.

She is president of Kobe College for girls. She says that the girls are very eager for education. She gave us much information about the Japanese and their customs. The program consisted of character sketches, popular operatic selections and violin numbers. The company proved them selves entertainers of rare merit and harm. The outstanding features of the program were the readings of Anderson and the vocal selections of Mr. Ring. More than $50 WHS cleared, half of which went to the entertainers and the remainder will be used to help defray the expenses of the senior class.

Sealed bids will be received by the undersigned City Auditor at the office of the City Clerk of the City Chillicothe, Missouri, until 12 o'clock noon, of the 9th day of May, 1921, the grading, curbing, paving. pairing a ad the reconstruction of paving of that portion of Locust street from the south side or line of Clay street, thence south a distance of four hundred feet, in said City of Chillicothe. Missouri, in accordance with Ordinance Number 2265 of the ordinances of said City of Chillicothe and the plans and specifications thereiu referred to, which plans and specifications are now on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City of Chillicothe. All of the said work of grading, curbing, paving, repaving and the reconstruction of paving, including all the cost of bringing the said portion of said street to the established grade to be paid for by special tax bills to be issued against the proper ty liable therefor, according to law as provided by said ordinance number 2265, passed and approved April 25th, 1921. Each bidder shall submit with his bid a certified check for One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) payable to the City of Chillicothe, Missouri to insure the making of the contract as provided by the ordinance.
