Lloyd, Lewis and Charlie Altus are now the proprietors of the new State Restaurant, having purchased the same of J. O. Dodson Saturday of last we'ek. The name has been changed and-is now known as "The Three Brothers Restauraut." Victor Talking Machines are the best. $10 to 150.

The Muldrow peach growers have been marketing their crop this week. Something near 1500 crates have already been shipped. On the Thos. J. Watts farm east of town, there will be about 2500 crates.

Roy Turner returned to Warwick last Monday where he has a position with the Fort Smith Western as station agent. Roy has just recovered from a long siege of typhoid. D. W. Watson, state bank examiner, was in our city Wednesday looking over the books of our banks.

He found everything strictly in accordance with the banking laws of the state. We could have told him that before he came. The town of Vian has raised $350.00 in cash to be given away in prizes at a picnic to be held there August 18 and 19. This is evidence that Vian has a lot of public spirited citizens worth while and who are not afraid to spend money to entertain their friends and boost their town. Mr.

and Mrs. E. P. Renner who came here about a month ago and opened up a photograph galley, departed Tuesday noon for Eureka Springs, where they expect to reside for a time. Mr.

Renner is in very poor health and they are making the change in of improving his health. During the absence of cashier W. R. Brownfield and assistant cashier V. R.

Makdinien and Ben Mabray of Sallisaw, had charge of the Bank of Sequoyah. It seemed like old times to see "Nack" at the cashiers window again in this city. I am a little and arrived at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Chafe.

Blaokard last Monday, July 26.. lAttnou city only a few I have made the acquaintance of a large number of the citizens and am beginning feel like I am running the Blaokard house. I have many accomplishments, and among them is a nice clear distinct and musical which I cultivate every night much to the delight of all and especially: to my papa. Papa thinks I am the "dandiest" boy in town, but the doctor and neighbors say there others.

Before many years roll around I will join the Mabray- Blackard fishing club and then there will be Something doing "for sure. Owing to my late arrival in the city, I have not yet gone out into society and have only met friends calling at the house, but in a short time I will call ou you personally. R. Wylie, who was here last week as relief agent during the sickness of G. Kephart, went from here to Jenny Lind, Ark. Mr. Wylie's home is at Van Buren and during the past three months he said he had cnly spent about nine hours with his family which, he said, was one of the pleasures of being a "relief man" for the railroads.

Walton Shackelfrord, who are farming in the bottom, have just finished planting 90 acres to potatoes. The spring crop off this same ract produced something over 8,000 bushels of marketable potatoes and over 3000 bushels of seed. The fall crop is the greatest producer and Messrs Walton and shackelford are expecting: a heavy yield this fall.
