bershlp, Mrs. James Macey; hostess chairman, Mrs. Gedelman; Christmas cards, Christ. mas wrapping and accessories, Mrs. George Gedelman and Mrs.

James Macey. Plans for a pre-Chrlstmasba. faar were made, with date and Place to be set later. There will be a variety of things for sale and the Auxiliary will welcome donations of rummage, mi seel, laneous household Items, toys and anything that may be sold. Those who have contributions may contact any of the Orthopedic chairmen for pick-up.

The women hope to gather these things early. They suggest it would also be helpful If bake- sale donations were promised in advance. The Orthopedic calendars have been received and are a vail, able now. Samples of Christmas cards, wrappings and all.occasion cards have been received and may be ordered. The next Auxiliary meeting will be held Oct.

College students from this area who have resumed their studies Include Miss Marlene Epp of Island View who is a senior, and Miss Glenda Wllli. son of Clallam Bay, a sophomore at Western Washington State College, Bellingham. Grant Munro from Sekiu has begun his sophomore year at the University of Washington.

Hartman of San Juan Vis. ta who attended Peninsula College last year has also en. rolled at the University. Bill Stock of San Juan Vista has begun his second year at Pen. insula College.

New students there from this area are Mar. garet Brow from Clallam Bay and John Helkkila of Island View. Bruce Tulloch of Pysht Is at Western Washington College for his senior year. Marvin Thomas of Clallam Bay, who attended Olympic College at Bremerton two years, has begun his junior year at W.W.S.C. Mr.

and Mrs. Ty Gill wish to express their thanks and ap. preciatfon to their neighbors at San Juan Vista for their kind assistance when they moved to their new home. Mr. and Mrs.

Oakley Dahl. berg of Honolulu left Sept. 24, after a third summer spent in their trailer in Sekfu. They plan to be back next year. Before re.

Don Kerstetter of Renton, who was employed at Sekiu Grocery during the summer several years ago, recently spent a week of vacation fishing at Sekiu. Mrs. Lilah Burns of Lewis, ton, Idaho, left Sept. 24 after a few days here visiting her cou.

28 at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Olson. Also present were Alvin Olson's son and family, Mr. and Mrs.

Arlen Olson, ie, Valerie, and Scott. Four gen- eratlons of the Olson family were Present. The local Presbyterian Women's Association was repre. sented by four members at the Peninsula Fall Presbyterlal held Sept. 26 at the Presbyterian Church in Port Angeles.

Attend- Ing were Miss Hazel K. Murray, and Mrs. Alma Gilberts on of Clallam Bay and Mrs. Revell Nichols and Mrs. Ildri Arbeiter of Sekiu.

Mrs, John Wee! of Port An. geles, former Clallam Bay resident, was the guest of Mrs. Alma Gllbertson In Clallam Bay Sept. 27.29. Mr.

Grant D. Munro who spent the summer here with his son and family, Mr. and Mrs, George Munro and sons, has returned to Port Angeles. At present he Is visiting his daughter and family the Ingmar Andersons. Mrs.

William Younden left last Monday to spend the week visiting relatives In Victoria. Miss Charlena Doran, dan- ghter of Mr. and Mrs. Donald Doran of San Juan Vista, a 1967 graduate of Clallam Bay High School, recr ntly traveled to Wapello, Iowa, for an extended it with her many relatives in that area. After her arrival she first visited with her aunt, a sister of Mrs.

Doran and her family. Miss Doran was the Clallam Bay. Sekiu Fair Queen candidate this year. Mr. and Mrs.

Mike Blaser who resided near Sekiu for a time after their marriage In Clallam Bay, are now making their home in Wheeler, Oregon. Both are employed there. Mrs. Blaser is the former Miss Darla Doran. Miss Tina Soresonof Tacoma, music teacher, and Miss Pat Ward, Home EC.

and P.E. in. structor at Clallam Bay School, have rented the home of Mrs. Elsie King at Sekiu for the school year. Mrs.

King has re. served a room for her own use on weekend trips home. Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Taylor of Davis, California, left Sept.

27 after a visit with her parents Mr. and Mrs. Joe Marko. They arrived in time to see his par. ents, Mr.

and Mrs. P. Tay. lor, before they left to return to their home in Burllngame, Calif, after a 10 day visit with the Mar. kos.

Kenneth Taylor landed a 38 Ib. King while fishing Sept. 26. Mr. and Mrs.

Marko, who have been at the Sekiu Grocery for over a year, plan to return to California in October. The store closes for the winter Sept. 3a Sekiu cannery closed for the season Sept. 24. CQ Cafe closed recently for the winter and White's Cove Restaurant closes October 1.

Fishing continues with some nice catches of both king sal. mon and silvers. Among those doing well recently were Howard, Jerry and Jim Frank- lln of Frultland, who landed a 35 28, 19, three 15 pounders, two 10 Ibs and two 8 Ibs in two days fishing. Dale Robinson of Tacoma got five fish to 33 Ibs and Mr. and Mrs.

King of Mt. Vernon had nice catches of silvers and a 23 lb king on Sept. 28. A 43 Ib. king came In on a charter boat Sent.

29 and the party had four smaller salmon. Mrs. Weldon Morrisishome after spending; a week In Ever, ett and Seattle. Her mother, Mrs. Nina McEwan, who had been vis.

iting here for a time returned with her to her home In Ever, ett. While in Seattle, Mrs. Norrls went to Cabrlni Hospital to see Mrs. Carl Johnson, formerly of Sekiu and Port Angeles, who was there for surgery. She was doing well.

Mr. and Mrs. John Tuttle re. cently took a vacation tripasfai- ns Reno. While in Nevada they watched the filming of "Bo.

nanza." They also visited friends in Oregon on their trip. H. C. (Chris) Olsen has been a patient in the Forks hospital the past two weeks. He is report, ed feeling much better.

Customs Of. fice opened it. he found a parcel containing a Viet Cong hand grenade made of bamboo, a U.S. Army hand grenade and a triggering device. The Baltimore police bomb squad defused the U.S.

grenade Tuesday but summoned ord. nance experts to handle the Viet Cong grenade, which had no percussion cap but contained wires inside the handle.
