E. W. Grove's sig nature is od eacu ouz. JAS F.SHEWMAKER. dentist i office on same floor Fa rrellr's law office 2 From Colorado City.

The following letter has been re ceived by Mr. and Mrs. t. v. rop' plno, of this city, from their son, Klvi, who is in the west: Colokado City, I August IU, l'JOl.

Dear parents, brothers and sisters: I will write vou a few lines. Fred and I are working In the Colorado-Philadelphia Reduction Company's mills, where the ore is ground ana the gold taken out. We get $1.80 for eight hours' work. Tho men work in three shifts and never stop day or night unless something gets out of order. i red is in the roustaboutgang and I am working in the third story transferring ground ore.

We pay $4.50 per week for board and room. We haveaeen everything of importance around here, having put in a good deal of time slgtit-seelng before going to work. Have been on top of the mountains, up through the canyons to the Garden of the Gods, and on top of Tike's Peak. We start ed up the cog railroad to the top of the i'eak at 8:15 last Thursday morning and got to the top at 3 In the af ternoou. It was the hardest climb I ever experienced.

After we reached timber line we could not go over 5 or 100 yards at a time without resting, the air was so light, and in going the last lour of the nine miles it is an as cent of one mile, so you can see what kind of a grade we had to climb. Now we can say we have been above the clouds. When we first struck them it seemed that we were in a thick fog and then it began to snow. We saw a large hole near the top of the Peak, which was caused by a vol cano, it appeared to be about 400 feet deep, rom the top of the Teak we could see the mountains in JSew Mexico. I am feeling like a new person, and could almost eat a dead dog.

Never felt belter in my life. Well, I will try and tell you the prices of a few thimrs in the way of eatables: nutter, due; potatoes, zo per meat, from 20c down; apples, 4 lbs. for 25c; bananas, 30c per dozen; lemons, 25c per dozen, and everything accordingly. House rent isn't much higher than in Chanute. There is a sight of carpenter work here.

Frank could get all the woVk here he could do at $3 50 for nine hours' work. Elva. The girl is the mother of the woman just as "the boy is the father of the man." Tlie period when the womanly functions begin is one to be carefully watched and considered. Irregularity or derangement at this time may be promptly met and cured by the use of Dr. Pieree's Favorite Prescription.

But neglected at this critical period may entail years of future suffering. "Favorite Prescription" acts directly upon the womanly organs giving them perfect vigor and abundant vitality. It removes the obstructions to health and happiness, and delivers womanhood from the cruel bondage of 'female weakness." You pay the postage. Dr. Pierce gives you the book.
