pupils of tho Eighth Ward School will reproduce this evening, In the largo ball ol their school house, the beautiful cantata, "New Year's Eve." They will be assisted in rendering it by several of the best amateurs in the city, and the occasion promises to be one of tho moat pleasant character. Many of our readers will remember that this cantata was given by the pupils of this school a year or two since, and the entertainment charmed ail who wcro present. The hall was filled to overflowing. Numbers could not be accommodated, and wcro deprived of the pleasure of hearing it The new hall is much larger than the old one, and as it is proposed to repeat it to morrow evening, all will have an opportunity of enjoying the sweet solos and choruses. This will undoubtedly be the event of the season in tho Eighth Ward, and we advise everybody to go.
