32-w3t. EDUCATIONAL. THE ACTIO OF THE TRUSTEES OF the Brownsville Female Academy and the Crawford Institute, the two schools have been consolidated. The buildings and grounds belonging to them will be thoroughly repaired and can accommodate from 200 to 300 pupils. A liberal patronage can be commanded, and the trustees are determined to build up a first class Female school.

They wish to engage a competent Principal with a corps of teachers for the literary department. At the head of the musical department, is a professor who has most successfully been connected with the schools for the last ten years. The attention of well qualified candidates for a permanent situation and a position that can be made to pay, is solicited. Applications with vouchers will be considered until the 1st August next. Brownsville is eligibly located being directly on the Memphis and Louisiana Railroad.

General Orders, 1 No. 60. The following appointments of Registers are announced. The persons named will be assigned 10 auty Dy Post commanders as members oi Boards of Retristration for the several Registra tion Precincts they may establish within their commands. Commanding Officers of Posts will fill vacancies and report their action to these Head quarters for confirmation.

Two Boards of Registration will be organized for each County in North-Carolina having more than six election precmcts, except the Counties oi ueautort, Cumberland, craven, augecomoe, Granville. Halifax. New Hanover, Wake, Davie and Wilson, which shall have the Boards provided ior in this order. Registers will be required to take the oath prescribed by the Act of Cougress approved 2d July, 1862. Blank forms of this oath of office will be furnished to Post Commanders, and when duly subscribed and sworn will be returned to tuese Headquarters.

The election precincts established by law or custom as voting places in the Counties and cities of North-Caroliua, and in the Districts, Parishes and Municipalities ol South-Carolina will be designated by Post Commanders as the places for Registration. It is desirable that not more than six of these and preferably a less number, be included in a Registration Precinct and assigned to one Board, so that ample facilities may be afforded for Every Board of Registration will choose its presiding officer, who will represent the Board and announce its action upon all matters coming ueiore it. The sale of spirituous liquors by any person or persons to soldiers, sailors, or marines, in the service of the United States, is hereby prohibited and any person so offending, procuring for, or giving away to, any soldier, sailor, or marine, any spirituous liquors, will be brought to trial beforo a military tribunal, and shall be fined in a sum not exceeding one hundred dollars nor lee -than liity dollars, or imprisoned for a period not exceeding two months. Any person giving information of the violation of this order, shall, upon conviction of the person accused, be cntfc- -tied to receive one-fourth of the fine imposed and collected.

Post Commanders will require Sheriffs, Dep- nty Sheriffs, Constables, and the Police force with- -in their commands to report to them any violat ios of military orders and arrest the guilty parties. XL Post Commanders will exercise a supervision overall Magistrates, Sheriffs, Constables and Police within their will, whenever necessary for the preservation of order and the efficient discbarge of their duties assume command of tbe Police force.
