Mark Harrod, a former resident of Wood River, died Dec. 13 at a veterans hospital at Helena, Mont. He was a veteran of the Spanish-American war and was to be buried today in Custer National Cemetery in Montana. Survivors are his wife, who has been living in Helena, near the hospital; a daughter, Mrs. Robert Allridge, of Santa Fe, N.

Operating a stock farm at Vienna he does much hunting and the out-of-door life keeps him in good condition when the baseball season arrives, he added. He has been playing professional ball for a number of years, being with the Cardinals, Philadelphia and Yankees. Memorial Services for Herman BrueKgeiuan Memorial services were held Sunday at 2 p.

Allen has recovered after having a dozen teeth extracted, and Is said to be getting along fine. He had planned on being home for Christmas, but later orders has deferred his visit here until March. Mrs.Hatfield,79, Wood River, Dies WOOD RIVER, Dec. 17. Mrs. Magdalpna Hatfleld, 79, widow of David Hatfleld, died Saturday at 5 p. m.

al her home, 957 Lorena, following an Illness of nine months. Mrs. Hntfield was born Nov. 19, 18GG, in Shclbyville, 111., the daughter of Benjamin and. Louvlna Summers.

Mrs. Hat field Is survived by four daughters and two sons; Mrs. Lulu Dornieden of Springfield, Mrs. Eva Braughton, Mrs. Alice Sexton, and Mrs.

Lydia Fair, all of Wood River, uncl Oscar Hatfleld of Rochester, and Charles Hatfleld of Herrin. Nineteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral services will be conducted from Marks-Weber funeral home, Wood River, Tuesday at 10 a. with the Rev. Richard Keyes, pastor of Christian Church, officiating.

The body will be taken to Chestnut and Pierce funeral home at Teylorville for at 2 p. in. Tuesday. Burial will be in Oak Hill cemetery, Taylorvftle. Friends viewed the body at the funeral home after 11 a.
