Ruby Pence, East Alton. Chorus Will Form Permanent Organization Youlh-For-Chrlst choir of 75 members has made arrangements for a Christmas party and for effecting a permanent organization. Paul Grant is the choir director. The last rehearsal was held Monday evening and members decided on the first business meeting which will be held In connection with the Christmas party. Officers will be elected.

Committees were named by the director Monday evening to complete plans for the party. C. C. Richards In Critical Condition Suffering a stroke last Sunday mornnlg at his home, 2429 Sanford, Charles C. Richards, 81, many years a resident of Sanford avenue, Is in critical condition.

Members of Richards' family have been remaining close to his bedside. Arthur Badgley Still In India. Arthur Badgley, 25, writes Alton relatives that he is still in India, and has few prospects for coming home soon. He is In the army, engaged In radio work, and has been overseas 27 months. His wife, Mrs.

Margaret Badgley, is with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Lawton of East Ninth street. Badgley Is the son of Mr. and Mrs.

Hubert A. Badgley of Cardinal street. Rev. Lampe Will Address Former Congregation The Rev. J.

Heydon Lampe will preach Sunday morning in College Avenue Presbyterian Church. Rev. Lampe returned a few days ago from the South Pacific and received his discharge from the navy. He has been visiting with Mrs. Lampe in St.

Louis, where the couple are guests of his parents, the Rev. and Mrs. H. W. Lampe of Maple avenue.

The pulpit committee of the church has arranged for Rev. Lampe to preach the next two Sundays. The Rev. and Mrs. Lampe visited in Alton a short time Wednesday afternoon.

Undergoes Operation in St. Lee R. Wilson, owner of Wilson Body Shop, Main and Sanford, underwent a major operation for relief of a kidney ailment today at 9 p. m. In Jewish Hospital, St.

Louis. The young man had been a patient In the Jewish hospital two weeks ago, but later came home. On Wednesday, he was returned to the hospital. Four friends went to the hospital last evening for blood tests preparatory to giving blood for a transfusion. Lt.

Schmoeller Joint Firm First Lt. Richard Schmoeller who recently arrived home from Italy, today joined his father In the W. B. Schmoeller real estate agency, taking up his pre-war work. With his wife, Mrs.

Mary Katheryn Schmoeller, he will take up his residence within the next few days at their home, 2421 Sanford. The couple Is with Mr. and Mrs. W. B.

Schmoeller, 923 Langdon. Lt. Schmoeller entered the army In January, 1942. He had been in Italy 2 1-2 years. Since returning to the States Lt.

WOOD RIVER, Nov. ohn T. Younger, son of Mr. and J. N.

Younger, recently dls- harged from the army, holds the ronze star for heroic actions, manning a rifle and killing 37 of enemy in action on Luzon, 21. A member of the First Cavalry Division, was ammunition bearer with a rifle troop In an as- ault against a strongly fortified enemy held building. Noticing both a gunner and his assistant vounded, Younger manner the gun ilmself, delivering such Intensive 'ire that the enemy was forced to withdraw, enabling Younger's troop to secure the building and evacuate the wounded. As the enemy withdrew through a small clearing, Younger moved forward and with rapid, accurate fire, killed 37 before they could escape. Younger returned to the United States and ijas discharged afjer 28 months in the south Pacific.

He won the Presidential unit citation, combat Infantryman's badge, purple heart, bronze star, Asiatic-Pacific, Victory, and Philippine Liberation ribbons with six battle stars. Younger saw action In the Admiralty Islands, and was In battles on Los Negros, and at Momato airdrome.
