as" 1 THE PHILADELPHIA INOtTIRExl. SUNDAY MORNING. AUGUST IK. 1943 a T3 Annette Ross at Troc The burlesque at the Troc this week headlines Annette Ross, mak Eddy Morgan at Met I Eddy Morgan and his orchestra play for daneing at the Met Ball-room, filling a two-week engagement. Featured is the popular local vocalist, Sid Keen.

Si- -sl jt i i Parsons Leads 'Sings' The Wednesday and Friday night Victory Sings in the Grand Court of Wanamaker's have a new leader, VHappy" Jim Parsons, of the radio, following the departure of Joe Vitale for Hollywood. Parsons leads songs of hope, cheer and victory, supported by the great Wanamaker organ and the Golden String Ensemble. O-Ll -1 I I I poDoy pernorQ xesTurva louay ar ran; Deane Carroll sings at Willow Grove Park today; Eddy Morgan leads his orchestra at the Met Ballroom all week, and Jimmy Serib-ner, radio's "Johnson Family," is at the Carman this week. ftp 1 Felix Bressart 'Not His Type' Felix Bressart, who's in "Above Suspicion." now at the Aldine, admits he is "not just his type." This is not meant to be double talk. He can't tell you which of his picture roles he had enjoyed the most.

He can't tell you because he lias never seen any of them! "Personally, I don't like me on the screen," he remarked in a vague sort of way when interviewed recently. "This assertion is based on absolutely nothing. Perhaps I should say I don't think I would like me on the screen. You see, I don't consider myself to be my type." Ever since he made his debut in 1914, Bressart has been in constant demand. At first it was the European etage.

He then appeared on the screen and stage in' England, Prance, Denmark, Yugoslavia, Germany, Austria and Hungary. It was Henry Koster, a friend of Brejjart's. who invited him to visit Hollywood. Koster asked him if he would consider playln? a part in a picture. Bressart was delighted.

The f.lrn was "Three Smart Girls Grow rp." Since that time there has been hs rdly a day Felix Bressart is without make-up and a new-fangled mustache of some kind or another. In real life he doesn't wear one, although he admits that appearing before the cameras minus the hirsute adornment makes him feel like a nudist. Summertime Entertainment The concerts at Woodside Park today at 4.15, 7.15 and 9.45 will feature Bobby Bernard, master of melodies, and. Maryanna and her Marionettes-Jack Steck will present his Kiddies' Hour at 2, also in Sylvan Hall. There is fireworks display every Friday.

In the stage revue today at 3. 7 and 9 in Willow Grove Park's music pavilion are Deane Carroll, "The Victor Herbert Girl," Bob and "Maxine Clayton, tap dancers; the Kemmys in comedy, and Frankie Schluth, emcee. There are fireworks every Wednesday after sunset. Saturday evening in the Casino ballroom, dance music will be by Bill Hall and his orchestra. Sammy Kaye ends his engagement today at the Atlantic City Steel Pier.

Will Osborne and his new band arrive tomorrow for a full week. Alex Bartha alternates. Jimmy Scribner, "The Johnson Family" of radio, stars on the stage today. Melody every minute will be the menu at Hamid's Million Dollar Pier today when Johnny Long and his orchestra, Mel Hallett and his orchestra, Junior Buchwalter and his Marimba Queens, and the Royal Midget Earid get together. Long makes a special one-day appearance; Hallett will play week.

ing her first appearance in the East, and Harry Con-ley, the orig-i a 1 "Elmer," supported vaudeville peer ial ties, 16 Troc-ettes in new Eddie Lynch dance routines, and the musicof Merrick Vali-note and Har-r Kahn's 1 ers. Evening r- ANNETTE ROSS formances again began at 8.30. Be comfortable this winter. Get your coal or fuel oil NOW so yarn Uill have it in jour cellar when cold weather arrives.
