The Board of Local Improvements still is without a contractor to take over the assignment made by R. B. Higglns Son of St. Louis last December. Among the obstacles met in getting the project under way has been obtaining faithful performance That is the Joyful cry of thousands, since Dr.

Edwards produced Olive Tablets, the substitute for calomel. Dr. Edwards, a practicing physician for 20 years, and calomel old- time enemy, discovered the formula for Olive Tablets while treating patients for chronic constipation. Olive Tablets do not contain calomel, just a healing, soothing vegetable laxative mild and pleasant. No griping is the "keynote" of these little sugar-coated, olive-colored tablets.

Purchase of a new city truck; installation of street lights at Third street and Eula avenue, and at Hamilton and Eula; construction of a catchbasin at Evans and Main streets were taken up. The light installation was approved, but the truck purchase, voted down several months ago for lack of funds, was referred to the purchasing committee for investigation; and the catchbasin construction motion was withdrawn by Alderman Carstens until a survey of the place could be made. Alderman Burroughs stressed the need for a general drive aganst wandering dogs. He said large "herds" of them wandered about the city, and frequently frightened small children.
