Miss Mabelle La mot he Dies In St LouU. Miss Mabelle Lamothe, a daughter of the Capt.

W. P. Lamothe, died at the home of her sister, Mrs. VJr- gina McCarthy, in St Louis, yesterday, after ieing helpless from for four years. Mies Lamothe leaves one sister, Mrs.

McCarthy, and one brother, lharles Lamothe, of New Orleans, La. Both brother and sister were In Alton today arranging for the funeral. The will be brought here tomorrow and taken to St. Paul's Episcopal where services will be held at 2:30 o'clock and burial will be in ity Cemetery. Miss Lamothe was in her young days a reigning belle in Alton.

She lived here for many years. She lived at West Alton, for a long time, a place founded by her father who owned all the land for miles around there. The family built the hotel building at West Alton and occupied it while at West Alton. Then theyj moved to St. Louis.

Mary Cutter, widow of George Cutter, died in Springfield, 111., Tuesday morning from old age, after being prostrated since last November. Mrs. Cutter was In her eighty-ninth year. She had been making her home with her daughter, Mrs. I.

A. Irwin, in Springfield, ever since the death of Mr. Cutter in Alton, about twelve years ago. Mrs. Cutter was born in New Hampshire but she came to Alton when a very young woman passed most of her life here.

Her husband was an engineer on the Chicago and Alton Railroad for many years prior to the time of his retirement. Friends of Mrs. Cutter say that she was prostrated soon after Thanksgiving Day and that she never showed any improvement. Death was due to old age. Beside her daughter she leaves one eon, 1 Hoseoe Cutter, of St.

Louis. The body will be brought to Alton for burial beside thut of her husband. The body will arrive this evening at 7 o'clock oil the C. A. train and will ho taken direct to City Cemetery for burial, Ucv.
