Page 14, Dover. Saturday, Jufy 6,1983 Culinary TjMorence Moser of 220 Cross Dover, loves to entertain and to serve her guests luscious desserts. She is such a busy hostess and such a generous cook that last week she baked 5 German chocolate cakes and 3 lemon pies. Her husband, Karl Moser Jr. and son, Geoffrey, 15, are good dessert eaters, too.

Karl owns a public accounting firm with offices in Minerva and Dover. Geoff helps his grandparents, the senior Karl Mosers, with their large produce gardens and market. Florence is 1 of 11 Castignola children, who grew up in New Philadelphia and attended Sacred Heart School. In a large family like that everyone helps so she learned to cook at home. Now she enjoys cooking'and baking more than anything although she likes to care for flowers, too, and sews.

She enjoys decorating their home. Frank Marino and Mary Polilli of Dover are a brother and sister of Florence and Marie Williams of New Philadelphia is another sister. STRAWBERRY PIE Ingredients: Quart of strawberries, 1 cup sugar, 3 tablespoons corns tar ch. Method: Take part of strawberries and cook with sugar and cornstarch until thick. Add uncooked berries.

Chill thoroughly. Pour into baked pie shell. LEMON PIE Ingredients: Three tablespoons cornstarch, 1V4 cup sugar, juice of 2 lemons and rind of lemon, cup boiling water, 3 egg yolks. Method: Add boiling water to eornstarch and sugar. Then add the lemon juice, rind and egg yolks.

Bring to boil and cook briefly (until thick). Pour into baked HOT POTATO SALAD Ingredients: Six potatoes (boiled), 3 eggs (hard boiled), 8 slices bacon (fried), V4 cup dill pickles, cup chopped sweet dill pickles, 2 tablespoons chopped green onions. Mix all ingredients except the bacon. Method (Dressing): Fry bacon until crisp. Strain 2 tablespoons bacon fat and add 3 tablespoons Shedd's Old Style Sauce.

Add: 2 teaspoon dry mustard, 1 teaspoon salt, teaspoon pepper, teaspoon accent, cup mayonnaise, 1 tablespoon vinegar from sweet dill pickles. Mix and heat and Corner By IEAN LONERGAN pour over the first ingredients. CHOCOLATE COOKIES Ingredients: Half cup butter, 4 oz. chocolate, 2 cups sugar, 2 teaspoons vanilla, 4 eggs cups flour, 2 teaspoons baking powder, teaspoon salt, Vfe cup chopped nuts, Method: Melt chocolate. Cream butter and sugar, add eggs.

Mix well and beat. Add chocolate. Sift flour, baking powder and salt. Add nut meats. Chill dough over night.

Form in small balls and roll in powdered sugar. Bake 12 to 15 minutes at 350 degrees. BLUEBERRY DESSERT Ingredients: Use 14 to 16 Gra- ftam cfaplters, cup melted butter, 1 tablespoon granulated sugar, 1 8 oz. package of cream cheese, cup granulated sugar, 1 egg, 1 cup "Thank You" pie filling, pt. whipping cream or "Dream Whip." Method: Crush Graham crackers, add melted butter and 1 tablespoon sugar.

Put In 8 8 bak- ing dish. Beat cream atfo? cup sugar and Beat until well mixed. Pour over crumbs. Bake from 25 to 30 minutes at 325 degrees. Cool.

Pour contents of pie filling over cheese mixture. Put whipped cream or "Dream Whip" on top and let set in refrigerator until ready to serve. Serves 9. East Sparta Homecoming Set By MRS. BEATRICE EVANS Telephone UN 6-2793 EAST SPARTA Plans are being completed for a homecoming celebration July 17-20.

Plans were made to have a stand at the annual homecoming when Isaac L. Kinney Unit of American Legion Auxiliary met recently. A pie and cake will be given away each night, with a transistor radio to be awarded last night. The group also will sell nylon purses and homemade candy and cookies. Mrs.

Dudley Korns, president, reported $210 was received from Poppy Day sales. It will be used for rehabilitation. Mrs. Korns, Mrs. Gene Higham and Mrs.

Lee D. Brown, delegates to the summer conference in Steubenville, made their reports. Mrs. Helen Higham, Mrs. John Bender, Mrs.

Korns, Mrs. David Keeney, Mrs. Daisy Brothers, and Mrs. Brown attended the Stark County Council in Canal Fulton recently at which time Mrs. Brown was elected vice president.

Other local women named to committees were: Mrs. Higham, historian; Mrs. Clarence Baechle, child welfare, and Mrs: Korns, legislative. Mrs. Harwood Yockey was elected to the executive board for the -coming year and Mrs.

Korns appointed Mrs. Higham, Mrs. Herman Reynolds and Theda Bender to the auditing committee. Committee chairmen appointed were: Catherine Slutz, rehabilitation; Norma Schlimn, child welfare; Dorothy Reynolds, poppy- Betty. Keeney, unit activities; Idabel Bower, civil defense and national security; Beverly McGuire, Americanism; Mabel Uhl, music; Helen Higham, membership; Grace Brown, publicity and community service; Thelma Korns, legislative; Helen Higham, sunshine; June Mills, Pan-American, and Theada Bender and Jackie Turax, junior activities.

The door prize was won by Mrs. Keeney. Hostesses were Miss Bender, Mrs. Schlimn, Mrs. McGuire, Mrs.

Melvin Boyd, Mrs. Mills and Mrs. Pauline Williams. Recent visitors: The Jack Pratts and son, Mark, of Chattanooga, with the William Lewis family.
