Hollander's new "Cabbage Patch Heather A song that had its inspiration in McHenry's Landmark School is making its bid for public attention this Christmas season. Dorthy Hollander, a teacher in that school in December of 1983, was caught up in the spirit of Cabbage Patch mania through the enthusiasm of her young pupils for the new craze in dolls. She set her thoughts to music and the outcome was "Cabbage Patch which will make its local debut on the stage of the McHenry West Campus auditorium this weekend. With the composer at the piano, 10-year-old Heather Adelphia of Woodstock will join Annie Cuda of the McHenry Choral Club to sing the melodic tune about the mythical baby who the "angels in heaven brought to the cabbage patch." Heather is the fifth grader at Olson Elementary School in Woodstock who appeared to rave revues in the title role of "Annie" recently concluded at the Opera House. Ms.

Hollander's interest in the folklore of the cabbage patch had its start many years ago when she first began reading stories to her students. She feels it has a definite place in a child's world of fantasy, adding, "I really based my song on this concept."
