11 are I having time to shut off the steam he jumped from the locomotive, which ploughed Into the dirt that continued to comb down from the roof of the tunnel. From the story of the engineer, who was not Injured, It seems that the eariN started to fall when the engine waHVmiy llfty or sixty feet away. The train was going at fifteen rjiiles per hour. The fireman, seeing the danger ahead, slipped down to tho end of tho boiler and thus escaped without a bruise. John Conley, tho conductor of the tririn.
