son of Mrs. Eleanore Hayes, of 5928 Reach was killed in action on August 9, after 10 months' duty overseas, the Navy Department reported. Seaman Miller, a graduate of Ol-rey High School, was employed at the Crown Can st. and Erie prior to his Induction In ervice two years ago. He served as a gunner on a destroyer.

His brother. Private First Class Stanley J. Miller, Is with the occupation forces in gunner, though he himself was mortally wounded. Grave-faced, but manifestly proud of his son. Coach Robertson accepted the decorations from Captain L.

M. Stevens, TJ. S. retired, director, of the Naval R. O.

T. C. unit at the university, at the ceremony in Coach Robertson's office. The engagement in which Lieutenant Robertson died was in the Second Battle of the Philippine Sea on Oct. 25, 1944, when he was "flying to extreme range" from the carrier Hancock, the Navy citation stated.
