3 GENERAL WHOLESALE PRICES CHICAGO, April 13 (A. Rains relieving droughty conditions in parts of Italy led to late setbacks of Chicago wheat prices today, and more than offset preceding moderate gains. Kansas reports of dust storms detrimental to crops had a transient stimulating market influence, and 80 did decrees authorizing French Importation of 1,000,000 bushels of durum. Export business in North American wheat today totaled upwards of 500,000 bushels, mostly from the United States. Bearish traders, however, stressed denials the British Government was buying, and also emphasized unsettlement in securities.

At the close, Chicago wheat futures were unchanged to cent lower, May July a80c, corn off to up, May a60c, July oats varying from decline to advance, rye setback to gain, and provisions 7 cents drop to 10 cents bulge. Corn and oats prices were steadied by word that Germany had bought three cargoes of No 2 yellow United States corn afloat. Spreaders continued to purchase rye futures against sales of corn. Provisions averaged higher, reflecting hog market and cottonseed oil upturns. Leading futures: WHEAT- Prev.

Milk Control Federal control to eliminate interState price differentials was demanded by dairy farmers of five States here yesterday at a joint meeting of the A. A.

A. dairy section and the State Milk Control Board. Dealers opposing control testified that 12 city dealers saved nearly $48,000 during the last six months of 1937 by buying milk outside of Pennsylvania, which has State-regulated prices, while Delaware, Maryland and West Virginia do not. Meanwhile, Harry Polikoff, counsel for the State Control Board, said that large salaries paid Philadelphia milk company executives have affected the price of milk to the consumer. "The expenditures," Polikoff said, "are legitimate, but have not been properly allocated.

They should be charged to the profit ledger, and not to the production cost of milk." Other testimony at the hearing indicated dealers paid 6 to 17 cents a hundredweight less for three classes in Maryland, Delaware and New Jersey than in Pennsylvania. Commercial Teachers Open Meeting Here Teachers from nearly every State on the Eastern seaboard gathered at the Bellevue-Stratford yesterday when the Eastern Commercial Teachers Association opened its fourday convention in this city. The executive board of the Association which expects to have an attendance of about 2000 members at its sessions, met yesterday. General meetings will be held every day until Saturday. Educators who will participate are D.

D. Lessenberry, commercial courses' director, University of Pittsburgh; J. Murray Hill, vice president of Bowling Green College of Commerce, Bowling Green, Kentucky, and Dr. S. Howard Patterson, professor of economics, University of Pennsylvania.
