Cooler, a weak-minded person. NEW YORK. May 1. RETORTS from tho steel and copper trade do not appear very cheerful. The steel trade does rot expert any large demand for the metal for some time.

The same is true of the copper trade, llocatise of these conditions earnings fur the Steel Corporation for the current quarter are not expected to be as large as those for the first quarter of the year. This would mean that even the per cent, rate would not earned, but there seems little question that this rate will be reduced. Also the monthly statement of unfilled tonnage whici. will be published on the Kith of tr.e month is expected to show another decrease in unfinished business. It is only natural, with these factors overhanging the market, brokers should sound a warning of caution.

But this has been done so many times of late that the public is skeptical and is of the opinion that the insiders are creating these conditions merely with the purpose of getting back the stock which they have previously sold at very much lower Sooner or later, however, these predictions must come true. Rut each time the warnings are issued the market continues ils advance. No. HOTEL CONTINENTAL Always ooen. Alwrnrs readr.
