Beale was a great-graudnh ce of Betsy Boss and a second cousin of the late Lord Jolian Pauncefote, British Ambassador at Washington. She was one of the organizers of the Flag House Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, and acted as vice regent since the time of its organization on June O. Mrs. Beale traced her ancestry back to Richard Sanger, who came from Fngland in 103S to settle iu New England, and the, celebrated English portrait painter and mezzotint engraver, John liaphael Smith, of Loudon. Among her mafcernal ancestors were Andrew (Iriscom, on of the first purchasers, of land from William Pcnn.
