LEGION AUXILIARY The American Legion Auxiliary TJnits of Hnmboldt county will hold their spring meeting in the Legion club rooms at Humboldt Thursday, April 27, at 2 o'clock P. M. with OBITUARY Andrew Anderson Andrew Anderson, of southwest of Thor, passed away at his home at 6:35 on Easter evening.

He had been In falling health for many years, and the end was not unexpected. He had reached the ripe age of 82 years, 5 months, and 27 days. The deceased was born at Leland, Illinois, on October 12, 1861. His parents were Ole and Serena Anderson. He had four brothers and sisters, all of whom have preceded him in death.

He was married to Anna Winterton in' 1S92. To this marriage three children were born. Omer and Bert are still living and reside near Thor. An Infant child and the young mother died In 1S97. By a second marriage In 1905, Caroline Wickre became hi swife, who survives her husband.

Eight children were born to this union, four of whom died In infancy. The four snrviv- ing children are Mrs. Ben. Duea, i ot Fort Dodge, Leonard and Clarence of Thor, and Corp. Selmer Anderson of Camp Gordon.

Fla. There are five grandchildren living. The departed followed farming as his life's work. At the age of 15 he moved with his parents from Leland to Lee, Illinois. For a time he farmed in Nebraska and then at Paw Paw, Illinois.

In 1905, he came to Thor, Iowa, -and through 39 years has resided on the farm where he passed away. By baptism, he became a member ot the Lutheran church at Leland. At Thor he was a sustaining member of UMensvang Lutheran church. In recent years he was largely bound to his home, and it became the privilege ot the local pastor to visit him freqne'ntlr fcnd read and, pray with him. TJieee visits were received with grateful appreciation.

Mr. Anderson was peace-loving and kindly, disposed to all and always sought to be-helfnl and fair to his neighbors, and this made many friends. He was much loved and respected by the members of his family. During the long in- valiilism and Illness, he had the tenderest care given him by his devoted children and by his ever- faithful wife. He will be much missed in the neighborhood and in the family circle.
