Thursday Morning, March 10, 1977 3Hjc (SulbeBion JJaily 5-C Rehabilitation Workshop Is Scheduled By Speech Experts An advanced practicum workshop in laryngectomy rehabilitation for speech pathologists involved in the communication rehabilitation of laryngectomees has been scheduled for April through 3 at the Galveston Holiday Inn. The special course is presented by the University of Texas Medical Branch's continuing education division and the Center of Audiology and- Speech Pathology. The primary guest speaker for the course will be Dr. James Shanks, director of audiology and speech clinic, Indiana University During the practicum sessions Dr. Shanks and others will circulate among the small groups providing assistance, suggestions and insights.

Course emphasis will be on the application of technique and program design to achieve improved or maximum communicative performance for laryngectomees who have already experienced the initial stages of learning. A registration fee of $40 has been set for this postgraduate course. This program is approved for 20 prescribed hours by the Texas Academy of Family Physicians, 20 hours under Category No. 1, for the A A Physicians Recognition Award, 15 hours (1.5 units) of Continuing Education Credit with the Texas Speech and Hearing Association and 15 hours CEARP and CME accreditation with the Texas Nursing Association.
