at both the Alton and East St Louis campuses. The courses include: three in ffaf- fie Management and Principles of Marketing; three in to Business Walter W. Persons wishing to take courses for credit must apply in ad vance to the S1U Office of Admissions, according to E. R.

The courses in traffic manage ment are set up in two programs one to be completed in two years the other in four, and are design ed to prepare candidates for th examinations leading to certifi cation by the American Societj for Traffic and Transportation. These semi-annual examinations are given in January and June. Cooperating with SIU in these programs are Delta Nu Alpha Transportation Fraternity, St. Louis Chapter 74, and Metropolitan St.

Louis Chapter 83; the Traffic Club of St. Louis and the St. Louis Traffic and Transportation Club. 10 Employes Retired by Box Board AHori Box Board has an- KHinceu the retirement of ten em- ployes. The retirements are from several departments.

with his sister, Mrs. Sadie Louis F. Hesse, L. Scheff. transportation worked for the Arkansas Highway Department for several years.

Hesse employed by Springman Lumber Co. Hesse and his wife, louise, reside on Rte. 4, Godfrey. They are parents of two daughters and one son, all married, and have seven grandchildren. Hesse attends St.

Ambrose Church, where he serves as an usher. James P. Goshorn joined Alton Box Board in 1944 in the wartime bomb ring department as a rewinder crew member. Most of his 18 years service with the company were spent in the pulp mill, where he served from 1946 Sheet Cutter. Prior to employment with Alton Box Board, he worked at Owens-Illinois Glass Co.

He is a veteran of World War in the Ordnance Corps, and is a member of the American Legion Post in Venice, 111. His son, Paul, a career Army man, is stationed at Fort Shatter, Honolulu, and is personal chef to the chief of staff, Pacific Command. Elmer McCann, caterpillar operator in the receiving department, joined the company in 1929 and spent his 33 years in the re- ce i ving department where he served on several jobs. In 1948 he became crane operator in 1954 he became a caterpillar operator, the job he held at retirement. Prior to his employment at Alton Box Board EM McCann he worked several years for the Peabody Coal to the general mill department for a year, and at the time of i retirement J.

P. Goshorn was assigned to 3 and 4 paperboard machines. Prior to his employment at Alton Box Board, he worked as a construction truck driver and was also employed for a perior by Seneca Petroleum in Chicago as a driver. Goshorn and his wife, Katherine reside at 603 English Jersey- John A. Glatz road Co.

Bernard's Church where is a member of St. Vincent DePaul Society and the Ushers' Club. He is a charter member of Knights of Columbus, Wood River Council 2944. John W. Fisher began his Box Board service in 1947 in the finishing department.

Later that year he entered the shipping department as a loader. In 1948, he became an electric dolly operator. The past four years he was on Travel Series Planned at Carlinville CARLINVILLE Tickets for he Rotary-sponsored travel and adventure series for the first season in Carlinville kick-off Monday, Sept. 10, as part of the program for the Rotary Ann will ie distributed to each Rotary member for a selling campaign on Sept. 10.

John Hoback and Joe Dana are co-chairmen of this year's series. The six travel and adventure series will be presented on six Monday evenings this fall in Carlinville High School gymnasium. Each film will be personally narrated by the explorer who created it. The first film, created by Benton S. Clark, will present the highlights of New York, the Empire State, from the sky-scrapers of Manhattan to Niagara Falls.

It will include West Point, the Catskills Game Farm, the Albany Tulip Festival, and the Corning Glass Works. This film is scheduled for Monday, Oct. 29. The second, scheduled for Nov. 26, will be a film of a journey across the Pacific from the Golden Gate to the strange ports of East Asia, with William Moore, world traveler.

Open house will be held all day Saturday and guides will be on hand to show people all. over the entire grounds. Free coffee and soft drinks will be served all day at a stand. Labor Day meetings will begin Sunday afternoon and close Monday evening. The Rev.

Kenneth Schmidt of Grand Junction, will be the speaker at all the meetings except on Monday morning, when the Rev. W. R. Williamson, former district superintendent for whom the camp is named, will speak. Services will be at 2:30 and 7:30 p.

m. daily and at 10:30 a. m. on Monday. The Rev.

Williamson spent 16 years in China as a missionary under appointment of the Assemblies of God. He then filled the office of superintendent of the Illinois District for 18 years, closing in 1960.
