MONDAY io, "OOR G.4NG" KIOS AT THEM.4RY11ND Special Stage Attraction For Three Days Little Scooter Lowry, the dancing hit of Hal Roach's original "Our Gang" kids playing; now at Warner Bros, Maryland Theatre, had his first taste of stage life at a benefit performance staged by Cliff Edwards and other stars of stage and screen in New York City. Scooter was allowed to dash on and off as his fancy chose, and one can well imagine the punch that such a diminutive 'comedian gave to an appreciative audience. The "Gang" give an excellent example perfection of performance that Hall Roach into hisr child actors. Scooter "Tough Guy' Lowry, has as his leading lady, none other than Miss Peggy Eanies who is in turn supported by Jim ''Rube" Wager. The reception given to the children of Hagerstown by these beloved scamps of the silver screen QH the promenade of the Maryland Theatre, must be seen to appreciated.

A reception will be held tomorrow and Wednesday for all children who wish to attend, and the "Gang" kids will present each child -with a delicious Eskimo pie, ice cream delicacy- "WHAT IS THIS NEW TREATMENT?" Washington St. 30 WILD TURKEYS FREED IN COUNTY Thirty wild turkeys have been freed in the mountains of Washington, county, according to an announcement made Saturday by the 'Hagerstown Chapter of the Izaak Walton League. Fifteen of the turkeys were freed in the mountains south and west of I-Iagerstown, while a like number were placed in the mountains near Hancock and in the game refuge Hancock. The turkeys were shipped here from the west.

The distribution was in charge of District Deputy Game Warden Albert Crampton. With a good breeding season this summer, there should be an abundance of wild turkeys in the mountains of the cotintv. Traffic counts at. various points in the business section are among the methods used in metropolitan centers to learn by actual count just how much traffic passes a given point, how much of the traffic makes a left hand turn, how many make the right hand turn and how many cars go straight past that point. Guesswork in Past- In the past, what few traffic regulations were adopted have been done so on guesswork.

The public in general has offered numerous suggestions for improving traffic conditions here. The Board of Street Commissioners, police department, and the traffic, committee the Chamber of Commerce, headed by Roy Danzer, already- have had one meeting and made much progress in ug the traffic problem here. The stricter enforcement of the one-hour parking law which followed that meeting, already has improved conditions in the downtown section.
