Simpson circus is out of order, 'ex-judge Crier says 5 Ui I Cm) Gail Shister TVRadio Talk 1 ABC's Catherine Crier, a former judge, has serious objections to the media's O.J. Simpson obsession. "There are other important issues in the world we could devote time and energy to that supersede the Simpson murder trial," says Crier, a 2020 correspondent since January 1993 and formerly a district judge in Texas. It's educational. It's good for the American public." When citizens take that oath, they try to comply." Still, Crier is troubled that "even the best and most well-intentioned jurors don't realize that some of the attitudes they carry into the courtroom are almost subliminal in nature." Crier knows she could be branded as hypocritical for doing Simpson stories, because "despite my concern, I'm certainly participating in the coverage. I'm not sure what the ultimate effects on the system will be.
