Sakowitz, president and chief executive officer of Sakowitz, Inc. announces a two-day "Odd and Even Grand Opening" for Sakowitz II at NASA on Aug. 13 (odd) and Aug. 14 (even). "Odd or even license plates make no difference in the Bay Area now that we've brought Sakowitz II to Ports of Call Fashion Mall.

Now Bay Area residents won't have to drive all the way to a regional shopping mall for the best fashion shopping experience," Sakowitz stated. "To better make our point, we decided to give complimentary Sakowitz t- shirts, which have "I'm Odd" (for Monday) and "I'm Even" (for Tuesday) license plates on the front and our special message on the II at NASA there's never a fashion ration!" The complimentary t- shirts will be given to the first 500 customers each day in celebration of the opening. Sakowitz II at Ports of UNIVERSITY, (UPI) Given the right circumstances, most people could probably commit murder, says Dr. Richard Parlour, an associate professor of psychiatry at the College of Community Health Sciences. Under enough stress and in certain situations, most people are capable of violent acts, even murder, says Parlour.

Sakowitz, president and chief executive officer of Sakowitz, formally opened the new 31,500 square foot "Sakowitz II at NASA" in Ports of Call Fashion Mall, 1400 NASA Road 1, Nassau Bay, Texas, with a "fog-cutting" ceremony. The interior structural design of the 31,500 square foot store utilizes angular and curving walls, varying ceiling heights and floor levels, a dramatic marble center well with clerestoried skylight which all blend to create an unusual spatial experience resembling a vertical diamond. All fixtures, wall coverings and floor coverings were custom made to Sakowitz specifications.

Counter fixtures are made of early American Appalachian white oak and glass, and others are angular plexiglass and chrome. The floor coverings are in gradations of gray blend with the textural wall surfaces in navy lacquer, salmon suede and natural hemp creating a complementary effect to the spatial experience. Sakowitz II represents a unique marketing concept of creating a completely edited jewel of a store offering carefully selected fashion from all over the world for a specific demographic area. "For the first time in a Sakowitz II, we have included a central area for selected accessories for the home," Sakowitz stated. "We've studied the lifestyle of the Bay Area resident and we feel our new store will fulfill many of their several of their needs." The store represents the first time that a floor plan has been designed from original inception utilizing the Sakowitz I.D.A.

concept of merchandising innovational, directional and acceptational. "Innovational" areas of merchandise and fashion are located in the center core of the store, "directional" areas fan out from the center, and "ac- ceptational" areas form the perimeter. While there is a definite partition of merchandise areas, there are no floor-to-ceiling walls to create a finite separation. To simplify shopping, each member of the Sakowitz II staff has been trained to cater to an individual client regardless of store department areas. "We call this approach 'one to one' service," Sakowitz explained, "and it also facilitates total wardrobe planning, a growing trend in sophisticated fashion shopping throughout America." "We are so enthusiastic about our new home in the Bay Area and we look forward to being of service to our new neighbors who believe in the Sakowitz concept of specialized merchandising and service in an elegant but intimate surrounding," Sakowitz concluded.

Sakowitz II at Ports of Call NASA Road will be open from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. daily, and until 9 p.m. on Thursdays. Our telephone number is 3334916.
