Total receipts at Hutchinson for tho first nine months of 1928 amount to 21,662 cars. Thu previous high record of the Hutchinson grain market was' 25,619 cars for the entire year of 1926. Receipts of other grains were: Corn, 637 cars; barley, 38 cars; kaflr, 1,702 cars; rye, 8 cars; oats, 22 cars, and seeds, 97 oars. The previous record year for receipts at Hutchinson was 1926 with a total of 23,919 cars of wheat Othor grains received that year were: 887 cars of corn, 26 cars of barley, 888 care of kaflr, 13 cars of rye, 40 oars of oats, and 71 cars of seeds. Increasing Storage. The continued increase in the volume of wheat marketed at Hutchinson, which la dua to tha constant expansion of tha acreage of virgin land sown to wheat, and also to the better farming methods resulting from the use of tractors and combines, has caused great interest in the expansion of the elevator capacity at that terminal. With the new elevators either completed, or on which construction work haa been started this fall, the grain storage capacity le being by a total of 1,135,000 bushels this fall.

Work has just been started on the construction of a new elevator for tho C. D. Jennings Grain which is to have a 800,000 bushel tank storage capacity. The tanks are being erected by the Chalmers Borton Construction of Kansas CJty. The capacity of the recently completed Western Terminal Elevator Co.

elevator Is being doubled at tho present time. Tha original elevator Which waa completed about September 1 had a oapaclty of a quarter of a million bushels. Tho additional tanks are being constructed by the Jones-Hettelsater Construction Co. of Kansas City, the firm which constructed tha original building.
