She was born May 13, 1916, inDefi- ance, and moved toAk- ron in 1928, where she spent the majority ofher years. She was the valedictorian of EastHigh class of 1932.

She held numerous jobs, including many years as a secretary at the Yeager Co. Later in life, she returned to the University of Akron, where she obtained a teaching degree and taught elementary school for many years in the Manchester School District. She spent her retirementhelping to raise her threegrandchildren, traveling, and volunteering. In that role, she gave the gift of literacyto participants of ProjectLearn, worked for UNICEF, and demonstrated for peace and nuclear disarmament. Jennie will be rememberedby those she left behind for her strong will, her progressive politics, and her inquisitive nature.

She hadan unwavering sense of optimism and treated all who crossed herpath with grace, kindness, and respect. She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris Holvey; siblings, Edward and Sarah Jane Lynch; and daughter, Dr. JaneHol- vey. She is survived by her sister, Elizabeth Soergel of Benjamin Luebbers of Seattle, and Steven Lynchof Brooklyn, N.Y.; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Meredithand Andy Shubin of State College, and great-grandchildren, Ellie and Jack Shubin. Upon graduating from Akron University, she taught home economics at Simon Perkins Junior High for four years until her marriage to John on July 9, 1955. They had resided in Yardley, and St. Petersburg, since 1969. She is survived by her husband, John; sons, John James, Thomas, and David, their with 15 grandchildren.

She leaves sister, JacquelineGermano-Cas- sano, who lives in Rome, Italy, and at the family residence in Akron. Until her recent illness, she was an active golfer and competitive tennis player. Born April 13, 1925, inNorwalk, Ohio, to Lucian and Ethel Rossman, she moved to Wadsworth, Ohio, in 1934 and graduated from Wadsworth High School in 1942. She married Wayne Dysinger onDec. 18, 1944. She lived and raisedher family in Rittman and workedfor the Rittman Hardware andOhio Injector. Fran married MyronLittle on July 4, 1976, and then worked at Montrose Swim andRacquet Club until moving to Arizona in 1978.

In Arizona, she workedfor Sun Valley Pools and Fleming Foods as an executive secretary until retiring and moving back to Rittman in 1991. Armydur- ing World War II. After the war, as theynick- named him, became a salesman for Peaslee- a bert Corp. in Louisville and was a sales rep for Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky for 10 years. He then decided to enter the carpet business and took a sales job with Collins Aikman for the southern Ohio territory. During his20-year career with he was national salesman of the year three times.

Shinaberry, 56, of Canton, Ohio, passed away Saturday, Aug. 9, 2003, at the home, following a long battle with a rare neurological disease. Born in Canton on Nov. 20, 1946, he was the son of the late George and Iris Shinaberry. He was a graduate of Glenwood High School and a graduate of the Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine.

He successfully built and ran his own small-animal practice in North Canton. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church and a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity. He wasal- ways active in the communityand involved in many philanthropic endeavors. An avid loved golf, tennis, racquetball, water-skiing and softball. He could often be heard cheering for the Buckeyes on Saturdayafternoons.

Dave loved life and always hada joke and a smile for everyone he met. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Darryl Shinaberry ofthe home; three children andtheir spouses, Shannon and Melissa Shinaberry, Danielle and Dave Sullivan, and Adrienne and Agustin Torres; and his brother and sister- in-law, Ty and Kathy Shinaberry. There are eight grandchildren and five nieces and nephews. Dave was a great husband and an excellent father, always putting his family first. He is lovedtremen- dously and will be sorely missed.

Upon his request, Dave will be cremated, and there will be no public services. The familywishes to thank all of the special people who helped at the home care-givers. Born in Canton, Joshua grew up in Hartville, where he played Lake Youth Sports and wasa state champion BMX bike racer along withhis brother Matt. He graduated from LakeHigh School in 1997 and received his Bachelor of Arts in sociology and criminal justice from Walsh University in 2001. In his senior year, Josh was elected defensivecaptain of Walsh University football team. He was a three-time athletic award recipient and received the Dick Gallagher Scholarship Award, the Mucowski Award for Player of the Game in fall2000, and was on the List. He was presently employed by Nationwide Mutual Insurance.

Josh loved being outdoors hunting, fishing, and taking part in motor sports. He is survived by his parents, Tom and Jackie; brothers, Jeff (Michelle) and Matthew Zimmerman; sister, Shawn (Scott) Mang; nephews and nieces, J.J., Abbie, Andrew, and Aidan Zimmerman, and Noah, Isaac, andHannah Mang; other relatives and numerous friends. She will be deeply missed by daughter and and Steve Taylor; Gene, George, Grant, and Hayward; sisters, Ann, Betty, Joyce, June, Regina, Ruth, and Sue; grandchildren, Stephen and Jared Taylor; great-grandson, Seth Taylor. Funeral services will be held Friday, Aug. 15, 1 p.m., at the Akron Baptist Temple, with Dr. Charles Billington officiating.
