Gary works for the Akron Beacon Journal, and Bonnie works for the Akron Hospital. They have had a wonderful life together and have been blessed with three wonderful children. (Singleton) 50th Anniversary Kenneth C. and Sharen G. (Singleton) are observing their 50th wedding Anniversary on August 3. They went on an Alaskan Cruise in celebration of this mile stone. They fondly remember being married in sister Karen home in Monroe Falls, Ohio, ciated by the late Rev.

Bill McDowell from Pittsburgh, Pa. Ken and Sharen met on a blind date in 1957. Both Ken and Sharen graduated from High School in Akron, Ohio (Ken from Hower and Sharen from Central). Ken and Sharen attend Damascus Friends Church. Sharen taught Sunday School at Atwater Baptist Church for over 10 years.

She has been a 4-H advisor for 42 years. Ken retired from Gen Corp in 1994. He has been selling windmills for over 40 years. Ken and Sharen work together as a team, installing windmills in many, many states (including Hawaii), as well as St. Vincent Island in the Caribbean.

They are members of Smith Grange, and are involved in the Mahoning County Farm Bureau. They are the parents of ve children: Bill Singleton (now deceased); Debbie Kachner (Mike) live in Uniontown, Ohio; Glenn Singleton (Julie) of Damascus, Ohio; Dedee Martin (Bill) of Shreveport, La; David (Triin) live in the country of Estonia. They have seven grandchildren: Brittany and Drew Martin, Shannon and Gayla Singleton, Matthew Kachner and Teele and Toomas They also have one great grandchild, Braidyn. They enjoy meeting new people and keep busy on their farm in North Benton, Ohio, where they raise goats and chickens. Ken and Sharen are still Sweethearts after all these years.

ANNIVERSARY Michael and Peggy Trace 40th Anniversary The Lord has blessed Mike Peggy with 40 wonderful years of marriage. Both were full-time Indiana University college students in 1971 when they met. They were married in 1972 after their sophomore year. Mike went on to complete his graduate degree to become a psychologist and Peggy a medical social worker. They have three children and four grandchildren who all live locally.

Charlotte and Tillman Thurman 60th Anniversary ANNIVERSARY BIRTHDAY Robert Mohler 100th Birthday! Robert Mohler was born in Akron on August 14, 1912.

Bob taught Civics at Central High School while earning a law degree at the University of Akron. Bob was an assistant Summit County prosecutor in his early career before joining the legal department at Firestone Tire and Rubber Company. Active in politics, Bob ran for mayor of Akron and later served as Summit County Prosecutor. He was President of the Akron Board of Education and was a Board member for many years. He held membership in several civic organizations and served as President of the Summit County Historical Society.

Joining Bob for his 100th birthday party are Marian Mohler, his wife who is 97, and his three children, eight grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. BIRTHDAY 85th Birthday! We are so very grateful to share the blessing of 85 years with our dad, James C. ANNIVERSARY Dick and Marion (Kropac) Casto 60th Anniversary Dick and Marion Casto were married August 16, 1952 at Annunciation Church in Akron, Ohio. They have been blessed with four sons, Richard B.

Casto II, Jeffrey J. Casto (Valerie), Steven C. Casto (Barbara), and Gregory A. Casto. They are the proud grandparents of 10 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, and soon to be 12 great-grandchildren.

A trip to Europe is being planned to celebrate the occasion. Dick is retired from The City of Cuyahoga Falls and still maintains Dick Carpet in semi- retirement. Marion is a retired realtor and volunteers as a house guide at Stan Hywet Gene and Mary were married on August 16, 1952 at Immaculate Conception Church in Akron, Ohio. Gene is a retired machinist. Mary was a homemaker and mother.

They have four children, Debbie (John) Ligas, Pam (John) Campbell, Randy (Shari) Gardner, and Steve (Tracy) Gardner. Grandchildren are, John (Jacquie), Dan, and Michelle Ligas, Lauren Campbell, Carli Gardner, Amber, Heather, Cory and Taylor Hoffman. Congratulations Mom and Dad. We love you.
