PAGE SIX ALTON BVENINO TKLEOSAPB 156 Reservations For Shurtleffs Alumni Banquet Gregor Ziemer, Writer and Educator, to Speak Gregor Ziemer, American news- paer man and educator, who recently returned from an 11-year stay in Germany, will be the speaker at the alumni banquet of Shurtleff Colleee Saturday at 6:30 p. m. at the lodge of Pere Marquette State park. Ziemer, who will speak at the commencement exercises of Wood River High school, June 9, has traveled extensively through Europe as correspondent for the New York Herald, and the London Daily Mall and the Chicago Tribune. For many years he was president of the American Colony School in Berlin.

During his slay in Germany, Ziemer interviewed Hitler several times and became closely acquainted with leading Nazi statesmen. He was a witness to virtually all the leading Incidents of Hitler's rise to power and has made an extensive study 'of the German S. guard, the Nazi courts, the Labor Front, and the "Strength Through Joy The speaker is an American citizen born in Michigan and educated at the University of Illinois and the University of Minnesota, Members of the class of '31 will pay honor to Dr. G. MrsMary Gabriel, Bunker Hill, Dies BUNKER HILL, June 5. cial.) Mrs. Mary Denother Gabriel, widow of Henry Gabriel died at the home of her sister, Mrs Anne Schallenberg, on Seminary road, at the age of 73. A resident of Bunker Hill for 20 years, Mrs. Gabriel had been making her home recently with her sister.

He telephoned this morning to relatives that Mrs. Goeken's Injuries were not serious. He expected to leave tonight for home with Mrs Goeken and their son. Mrs. Goeken and her son were on their way to Laramle, but after the accident abandoned plans for the trip.

They had left Alton early Wednesday morning. Near Abilene their car was sldeswlped by another automobile, Mr. Goeken said.
