OBITUARIES He was preceded in Vasilca Naumoff Belcheff, passed away August 29, 1996 in a retirement home in Albuquerque, at the age of 97 years. She was born in Rumania on August 2, 1899, the daughter of Risto and Spasa Naumoff. Vasilca and her mother left Rumania and traveled across country and the big ocean, then almost traveled across the United States. At a very young age of 12 "years, she and her mother reached Sofia, NM where Risto Naumoff was anxiously waiting for them. George Belcheff took the young lady as his bride in 1914.

To their union, six children were born. Surviving are four daughters; Evanca Atchjey of Albuquerque, Mary Comba of Clayton, Danca Dixon of Santa Fe, and Polly Hart of Dallas, TX; two sons, Steven Belcheff of Raton, and George Belcheff of Amarillo, TX. She is also survived by 24 grand and great grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband George and her parents. The funeral services were held at St.

Francis Xavier (Jatholic Church i in Clayton on August 31st. Father Montoya officiated. Interment followed in the Sofia Cemetery in Sofia, NM.
