Illustrated Bible Lesson ly Alfrtd J. lutichtr One Christ, One Church Scripture Corinthians 12S12-27, DISTURBED by problems within the Corinthian church, Paul wrote them stressing their oneness in Christ's body, the church. I Corinthians GOD formed His church as He did the human body: of many different members, each complementing the others. I Corinthians BECAUSE! Christians are interdependent upon each other, strife among them affects each individually and the church as a whole. I Corinthians ALL MEMBERS of the body of Christ must work together for the good of the entire body.

BAINER Dover Christian and Missionary Alliance Church James, the writer of the Epistles, reminds us.that sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. What a cruel climax! Death physical, eternal- is the inevitable outcome of all sin and suffering. These are man's three sorrows sin, suffering, and death. And Christ became the "Man of Sorrows," seeing that He took these elements and made them His own. He took pur sin.

(Isaiah 53) The crowning point of Christ's sorrows was that, knowing no sin, yet He underwent a conscious incorporation of it. He who knew no sin was made sin for us. Made sin! Not made a sinner, but made that ugly thing that produces all sinners. Without violence or de- ceit, He yet became our sin offering. Perfectly holy, He yet bore the sins of many and the in- quity of us all.

Without stain, He was numbered with the transgressors. And being made sin for us, Jesus underwent the sentence of eating sorrow all the days of His life. Absolute faultlessness was' his, yet He took our suffering. His grief was what, as the spotless one, He endured for others. Worn with continual anguish over man's sin, He was taken for fifty when He was but thirty years of age.

62 S.W. of Canton Ph. (216) 832-5258 epistle to the Roma'n Senate concerning Jesus said, "He was never known to laugh." Sin and suffering were His intimate acquaintances until He cried in triumph on the cross, "It is finished!" He tasted death for every man. The death of every person who has died, and will yet die, were rolled together into one death which is known as "thedeath of the cross." This was the price of redemption. Isaiah reminds us that He was buried in a rich man's grove at His death.

(Isaiah But the grave could not hold Him. On the third day, He arose triumphantly with victory over "death, hell and the grave," He condescended with love in His heart, His weary feet trod the rugged path to Golgotha's Hill, died as the "man of sorrows," arose and is alive forevermore. He wants to give you the gift of eternal life and dwell in your heart by His spirit. Have you permitted Him to come in? A Lively Service, Presenting A Living Lord. NEWCOMERSTOWN ASSEMBLY OF GOD College Street Rev. Fred Schmidt, Pastor rtmrtf! Monday Hebrews Tuesday Hebrews Wednesday Hebrews Thursday Hebrews Friday Hebrews Saturday Hebrews The night was dark and calm. All creatures were silent and leaves stood still as a lone man knelt in a garden called Gethsemane and prayed, "Not as I will, but as Thou wilt." Around Him Jesus' disciples lay sleeping. Soon He knew would come betrayal, public condemnation and derision and'the long last march.

And yet He prayed, "Thy will be done." In the shadow of the Cross Jesus demonstrated perfect love and trust for God, His Father. In the hours ahead He would establish His Sonship for the atonement of all mankind. And so today, in a world that needs this message of hope, let us commemorate that first Good Friday by acknowledging God as our Father, helping our churches to illustrate His way to the hungry, the lick, and the needy.
