and Mrs. Roswell Gray, spent the weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks. Mr. and Mrs. Orville Mahlon of Meridian, Idaho, were here last week to see Mrs.

Everett Ham, sister of Mrs. JManion, who remains ill. Mrs. Manion was the former Miss Eva Sipple of Rush Hill. The Manions went from here to Michigan to see their son, and wUl return to Missouri before going back to Idaho.

Mrs. Morgan Dore and daughter, Helen Gae, of Texarkana, who spent last week with her aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. George Biggs near Center, were here Sunday visiting her mother, Mrs. J.

E. Moore, and her aunt, Mrs. R. B. Wilder, house guest of Mrs.

Moore. Mrs. Dore and daughter, Helen; Mrs. Moore and Mrs. Wilder ate Sunday dinner' at the Vandalia hotel.

Mrs.Dore was the former Miss Betty Allison of this place. Mlas CloraJMae DeTienne has returned Missouri University where she completed the year's Miss DeTienne was pledged the Alpha Delta Pi sorority Just before: the" closing of the semester. C. W. Peer remained at ttie university for term.

Charles James and Miss Carol Middleton of Mexico; Mrs. D. D. Hudson was the only guest from Vandalia who could come and she brought a number of gifts; Mrs. Evelyn Brown Curtis and baby, Kirksville; Mrs.

Raymond Brown, Mrs. C. F. Christian, Mrs. R.

B. Baize and daughter. Miss Betty Baize, Miss Clora Mae DeTienne, Mrs. Price Jeffries. Miss JanCrKeJmen, Mrs.

Edward French, "Mrs. A. A. Tuepker, and Mrs. J.

R. Hammett, all of Laddonia. Some of those unable to come, who sent gifts were Mrs. Cynthia Cassidy and Mrs. Curtis Jackson of Vandalia.

Miss Betty Baize attended a shower in Mexico Friday honoring Miss Doris Dillard, who will be married June 17 to Howard Copeland of Moberly. The Laddonia Merchants were defeated Sunday 12 to 3 by the Palmyra team on the local diamond. Laddonia will play at Wellsville next Sunday. Mrs. C.
