F. Keith's, will assume a "new role that of a "globe-galloping" -traveler and lecturer tin his jbwn inimitable', burlesque style.

Of course, Jack has not actually circumnavigated the earth, but from the wealth of material that he has gathered from the four winds of humor, he certainly has enough to talk about for a good laughable half hour, interspersing his "lecture" with some of his latest song hits which he puts over in an in1 dividual -style has made him famous. MHUim.w ONLY MUSICAL SHOW IN iv TOWN DURING YTTLETTDH DEC. US COMMBKC1NQ WITH -BIO XUA3-MATINEE over some joke on a bass viol player that he could use on the stage. All of a sudden it flashed upon him that the bass viol would make a great subject for -a" topical song.

The big instrument is -so heavy that its "player has carry it; around infa: dray wagon 6r else leave it in the theatre all night. He has to stand up when he plays and must have a considerable amount of muscle to saw away on the strings. Then, again, it can't be used as a solo instrument, as a solo on the bass viol would resemble nothing more than a series of porcine grunts. All in all, Mr. Cawthorn decided that the bass viol player was a much-to-be-pitied individual and decided to write, a song about him and air his trials and tribulations before the, play-going public.

Accordingly he wrote out a- set of lyrics and induced his friend, John Golden, to write the melody. He introduced the song, into "The Sunshine Girl," and it was a riot at the very first Eerformance and has been the big song it of the show ever since. Audiences scream nightly at the funny lyrics of this song. No Christmas Matinee at Walnut i Instead of the usual Christmas matinee.
