IL. An accomplished pianist, graduated 1928, attended Chicago Conservatory for Music, was in concert and entertainment, she pursued teaching piano. Met Jack W. Bockmier in 1935 and was married, having one son, Jack R. Bockmier, the marriage was short lived.

With the second world war effort, being an avid reader of braille, and accomplished english student pursued braille proofreading for the U.S. Red Cross in their effort to rehabilitate soldiers with loss of sight. In 1942, became a proofreader with Johanna Lodge for the blind, transcribers of braille for the blind located at the Chicago Public Library, now at 8 South Michigan, Chicago, teaching new braille student transcribers, and proofreading until June of 1999. Met Elmer J. Hunt in 1944, he was a blind veteran of the first world war assisting in rehabilitation for the blind, they were married in 1946, moved to Lombard, IL in 1949.

She established a rug weaving business which flourished til the mid 1960's. As a certified braille proofreader continued reading for the Library of Congress, during the 1950's and 70's. In the early 1970's she joined the Naperville area transcribers of braille, as a braille proofreader until mid 1999. Was elected President of the Mary Briant Home Association for the Blind, in Springfield, IL in 1977. The home was in disrepair.

She conducted a fund raiser for a new $2,000,000 home which was completed in 1984. She was a member of numerous organizations and clubs, was honored many times by the city of Chicago and surrounding communities. An of the Illinois School for the Visually Impaired, Jacksonville, IL. She dedicated her life with love and compassion to the success and achievement of the visually impaired. The world has lost another great leader.

In 1993 First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton went to Capitol Hill to begin a futile effort to persuade Congress to approve the administration's proposals on healthcare reform. Raymond Pigozzi, 71, educational architect While Raymond Pigozzi was building a career as one of Chicago's most prominent educational architects, he was also building a reputation as the father of a hockey -playing dynasty in Evanston. Mr.

Pigozzi was one of four founders of the architectural firm O'Donnell Wicklund Pigozzi Peterson Architects which began in 1958 by specializing in school projects. Over the years, the firm has grown to employ 280 architects and has broadened its expertise to include commercial and institutional projects. Mr. Pigozzi died Saturday in the Hospice of the North Shore after a three-year battle with a form of lung cancer caused by asbestos, to which he was often exposed early in his career on construction sites. He was 71.

Mr. Pigozzi was also well known for his devotion to youth hockey in the north suburbs. Although he never played hockey, Mr. Pigozzi picked up an interest in the sport as a "stick boy" for the Chicago Blackhawks when he was a boy, said his son, Andy. He founded the Evanston Hockey Association and all four of his sons played the sport during their youth and in college.

Mr. Pigozzi's daughter, Ellen, was a competitive speed skater in her early teens. Among the Chicago-area architectural projects that Mr. Pigozzi oversaw were the Stevenson High School expansion in Lincolnshire, renovations at Evanston High School and at elementary schools in Evanston, Skokie and Arlington Heights, said his partner and friend, Leonard Peterson. He also designed expansions for high school districts in Homewood- Raymond A.

Pigozzi Flossmoor and Orland and Palos Townships. In December, received the Firm of the Year Award from the Chicago chapter of the American Institute of Architects. Mr. Pigozzi grew up on the West Side of Chicago and attended Crane Tech, where, he was a state champion wrestler. He studied architecture at the University of Illinois at UrbanaChampaign and joined a Waukegan firm that specialized in school construction.

In 1958, Pigozzi and three fellow Illinois graduates left the company to form Mr. Pigozzi is survived by his wife, Judy; three other sons, Ray, Tom and Bob; a daughter, Ellen Montanaro; three sisters, Claudia Hamblin, Dorothy Toth and Valerie Quilici; and 15 grandchildren.
