Rcbekahs Entertain District Officers WOOD district of- icers of the Rebekah Lodge made their official visit to Thompson Rebekah Lodge here Monday night They were Mrs. Fannie Craig, president of East St. Louis; Mrs, Ida Kafiser of Belleville, warden; Miss B.

Smith of St. Jacob, treasurer; and Mrs. Effle Kahney of Wood River, secretary. Seven past presidents attended. A drill was presented, the women wearing vari-colored evening gowns.

Eight escorts spelled Mrs. Craig's name. Miss Vera Reynolds and Miss Edna Utt recited a poem, while introducing the district presl- Two small children, Mary Ruth Borman and Monte Hefner, attired a' George and Martha Washington, presented the gifts to the president and other officials present. Each year the officers are presented with a silver spoon. Talks were made by the visiting officials.

The remainder of the evening was spent socially. Sirs. Manning Honored. WOOD Helen Taylor entertained at her home on Whitelaw avenue Saturday night, in honor of Mrs. F.

Manning, director of relief, who Is resigning from her position in the Wood River office. The guests included the office force of the Wood River relief headquarters. Bridge was the diversion, prizes being awarded to Mrs. Robert Lane, Mrs. Sophia Brummer, and Miss Lucy Thaxton.

Each guest presented Mrs. Manning- with a gift. The valentine motif was carried out in the decorations and refreshments. Mrs, Manning has resigned her post here. Mrs.

Robert Lane, who was on the force of the Wood River relief office resigned last September because of ill health. Add to Chaperone List. WOOD and Mrs. Harry Meyer and Mr. and Mrs.

Jack Wolf have been added to the list to assist Mr. and Mrs. Martin Maynes and Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gaul as chaperones at the dance given by St.

Bernard's Dramatic Club at Qerson hall Thursday. Baptist Amomas to Install. WOOD men of the Baptist Church will serve an oyster and chili supper Friday evening in the church dining hall from 5 to 7. The Amoma class of the Baptist Church will meet Friday at the home of Mrs. Randall Meyers, 891 Halloran avenue, at 7 o'clock.

Mrs. Carl Millard will be the assistant hostess. The following officers are to be installed: Mrs. Theodore Short, president; Mrs. Clyde Dlllow, vice president; Miss Frances Huber, second vice president; Miss Ruby Smith, secretary-treasurer.

Mrs. Millard will have charge of the installation. Harrod's Entertain WOOD Loyal' Ladies' and Men's Bible class of the Christian Church was entertained at the home of Mr. and Mrs. L.
