Simpson murder trial and its subsequent civil lawsuit phase.

So for those who have finally decided to get a taste of what the fuss has been all about, here's an "American Justice" episode I OJ. Simpson devoted to the civil case. Airing on at 8 p.m. and hosted by Chicago's Bill Kurtis, "Why O.J. Lost" is a follow-up to the series' "Why O.J.

Won" show, which wrapped up Simpson's criminal trial This episode will show viewers the legal process that resulted in Simpson being ordered to fork over $33.5 million to the estates of Nicole Brown Simpson and Ronald Goldman, as the penalty for being found liable for their deaths. Lawyers, jurors and family members give their insights as to what was going on during the case, which took a turn Monday when it was reported by a Los Angeles television station that Simpson's Heisman trophy, which he said he hadn't 'seen since January or February, had turned up and was to go to his ex-wife's estate as part of satisfying the civil penalty. Receipts for the same weekend in 1996 were 18 percent better. Four of the past five weekends have been worse than comparable weekends last year. The bulk of sales come from only a handful of films. "The Lost World: Jurassic Park" is the summer's only true hit so far.

Year-to-date grosses are $2.59 billion, still ahead of 1996's $2.33 billion for the same period. The weekend's top films according to Exhibitor Relations with the gross, the number of North American theater locations, the average and total grosses and the number of weeks in release.
