Shewmaker of 3549 Aberdeen avenue are announcing the marriage of their daughter, Miss Dorothy Louise, to Howard J. Dams, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Dams of Chesterfield, 111. The wedding took place in the home of the Rev.

Ct C. Ellis, pastor of the Kingshighway Baptist Church, St. Charles, Saturday evening. The double ring ceremony was pprformed by the Rev. Ellis, and (he attendants were C.

H. Sheldon, best man, Francis Rainey, groomsman, Mrs. Rainey, matron of honor, and Mrs. Sheldon, bridesmaid. The bride wore a street dress of teal blue velvet, fashioned along princess lines and made with a sweetheart neckline, accessories Of antique brown, and nh orchid corsage.

Her only jewelry was a diamond-set lavaliere worn by her mother on her wedding day. Mrs. Rainey wore a powder blue frock and navy accessories, and Sheldon was attired In a navy blue dress and wore match- Ing accessories. Their flowers were gardenias, arranged in cor- cages. Preceding the marriage, Mrs. Peter E. Whalen played Schubert's "Ave Maria." Mrs. Whalen played as the bridal party entered the church and during mass. Palms and ferns decorated the sanctuary of the church and gladioli placed on the altar.

The bride, who walked with her father, wore a gown of blush tone satin, fashioned with a sweetheart neckline, three-quarter length sleeves, shirred at the side, a fitted bodice, gathered at the hip-line, and a full skirt endlng.in a long train. Her finger-tip veil of blush Illusion fell from a Coronet of orange'blossoms. She wore pearls, a gift of the bridegroom, and carried a prayer book, from which were suspended two white orchids. Preceding the bride to the altar was Miss Rita Pennell, the maid of honor, In a govwv with a bodice of sapphire blue velvet and ja skirt of light blue taffeta. Miss" Pennell carried an arm bouquet of Briarcliff roses and white pom'pons and wore pearls, a gift of bride.

A large wedding cake was used as the, center-piece on the breakfast table and arrangements of flowers decorated the dining Room. Mr. and Mrs.

Crivello departed later in the day for a week's wedding trip to Chicago and points in Michigan. Mrs. Crivello's travel- ling costume with a dress of black and gray wool, a hat of Kelly green and other accessories of green and black. The couple will reside at the home of the bridegroom's parents, at 1000 Alby street. The bride graduated from Alton High School and was at Young's store.

She is an active member of the Phi Tau Omega sorority. Mr. Crivello, a graduate of Marquette High School, Is an employe of Union Electric Company. He recently took a flying course at Wadlow Field. Porter L. Robley of 917 McKinley boulevard entertained with "flags and flower" party Saturday, honoring their daughter, Shirley Joan, on the occasion of her seventh birthday. The living room was decorated with two American flags and red and white flowers, and the refreshment table in the living room vvas ornamented with a cake, in the shape of seven, iced in red, white and blue and decorated with candles and the initials: J. The table was also ornamented with a large blue musical vase, filled with red and white roses, which' played "Happy Birthday," At each guest's play was a candied favor, topped with a flag, and a red, white and blue napkin. The flags and napkins were secured in Texas, where the Robley famr lly recently visited.

Refreshments were In the form of small individual cakes iced in red, white and blue and decorated with J. and ice cream in the colors of the American flag. Miss a gown of white bridal satin, made with long sleeves and a square neckline trimmed with lace from her mother's wedding gown. The full skirt formed a graceful train. Her tulle veil, arranged with halo effect, was held in place with pearls nad orange blossoms.

She carried white chrysanthemums. The bridesmaid was attired In a pale blue net frock made 'with short puffed sleeves and a', full bodice. The long full appliqued with'blue and pink Velvet flowers. She wore a pearl necklace and bracelet and carried pink roses. Mrs.

Sauerwein, mother of the bride wore a dress of navy alpaca with navy accessories and a corsage of gardenias, Mrs. Meyer Was attired in a tan frock and wore black accessories -and a corsage of gardenias. A wedding supper was served at the home of the bride's parents at 7 o'clock. A three-tier wedding cake ornamented the bride's table. Mr.

Meyer is a well-known farmer in the 'Prairietown neighborhood. His bride is a graduate of Alton High School and is pianist of the Fosterburg Presbyterian Church. They will reside on a farm near Prairietown. Beck-Green Wedding Private First, Class Herbert W. Beck, son of Mr.
