Elizabeth's Convent, the home of the sisterhood, at Corn wells. Pa. She was 51 years old. Before Mother James entered the sisterhood, twenty-eight years ago, she was Miss Nora Otis, of St. Paul, Minn.

Slip-was the first applicant for admission after Pope Leo XIII granted permission for the sisterhood to be organized. At this time she was a pupil in the Convent of the Ladies of the Sacred Heart, at I Omaha, Neb. As assistant to the Mother Superior, Mother James saw the order -grow from a membership of two to 250. The funeral will be held at St. Eliza-, beth's tomorrow.
