E. Humphrey, with whom are associated a number of eastern capitalists in the development of the mining property-known as the Humphrey group, was in the city yesterday. The claims are eight miles from llorristown and thirteen men are now engaged in their development. Mr. Humphrey says he has in over a hundred places exposed the ore body, which is a big be cry or deposit rather than a ledge and that several shafts fiom 50 to 100 feet deep are all in ore.

The ore contains nearly every kind of mineral, but copper on the surface, turning more largely to gold as depth is attained. It is likely if all goes well that a reduction plant will be elected on the group next year. Much ore has been shipped from these claims and to a good profit, but at the present time there is no necessity for shipping and all efforts are in the line of developing a body for reduction at home.
