lands of roses. The floor was covered with paper roses on which the children danced. The fifty children who took part in the dance were taught and arranged by C. Kllwood Carpenter, the dance being arranged to Flotow's "Alexandre Stradeila," consisting ot solo dancing, groupings and tableaux, all of which made a very pretty scene when the colored tableau lights were burned. The dance commenced witUan ensemble by all the children, who were costumed to represent roses, each child representing an entire flower.

Then followed two little ladies, Clara r.ennet and Minnie Souders, who led the introductory, being succeeded by a tableau, "Death of the Rose," over which, by a mechanical contrivance, two huge balls burst, scattering roses over the ground. Agnes and Lillie O'Brien lollowed in a double dance and then an allegro movement by four misses, the two last mentioned and Emily Kace and Clara Bennet The second tableau was especially pretty. A little girl, years old, stood on the point of a revolving golden star, while back a dozen 'pink roses kneeled in a semi-circle, with another half circle of red and yellow roses back of them. Theresa Bartlett, a little guest of the house, was toe next dancer, fuiihing with a grand finale amidst the burning of colored fires. The children taking part were: Hattie Guttridge, Florence Rodgers.
