Bakalis, state superintendent of public instruction, to discuss the relevance of education. Morris Hunt, a representative of the Progressive Youth Program, said he told Bakalis at a meeting in East St. Louis last week that he should not spend so much time talking with educators but "go to the bowling alley and find out why kids are there rather than being in classes." "I told him he should throw out some of the technical terms and go to the grass roots," Hunt said. "He was so impressed, he wanted to go right then, but it was too late in the day," he added. Bakalis will meet with the dropouts Friday.
