At nearly every railroad depot in the city yeiterday there was a air sprinkling of clerical gentlemen on the incoming trains, who had come from various poiuls in the State to attend the one-ht ndred-and-fourth aession of the Philadelphia Methodist Episcopal Conference, which na to-day in the Columbia Avenue Churoh, Twenty-fifth street and Columbia avenie. As soon as they were oat of the stations they headed for the many places wbete, during the session, they will be hospit.bly entertained, principally private residen The presiding bishop at this conference, Eev.

C. H. Fowler, LL. will stay at tbe bouse of Thomas W. Price, 1807 Mount Vernon street, during tlni work of conference.

The session, from the talk among the Methodist clergymen, promises to be one ot the greatest interest aud instructiveness. During the past year a movement, which in its way has aroused as uch in the Methodist Church as th question of revision of the Confessior of Faith did in the Presbyterian, was the effort to secure, by the approbation of the entire church, the admission of women to the General Conference. The vote on the question in this city was decidedly against an such change, and in the event of unanimous approval the necessary legislation would consume several years before the would-be ecclesiastical legislators could bsgio their work. Thus the clergymen of the conference will have a topic of much inter "st to digest during the next few days. Tl whole move residence Xo.
