Letcher Pair Notes Wedding Date Mr.

and Mrs. Richard Alt of Letcher celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary, Thursday, Jan. 10., by entertaining 70 relatives friends at an open house during; the afternoon and evening. Of their six children, only two could be present, Aaron of Forestburg, and Cecil of Mt. Vernon.

The other four children are Mrs. Harold Jacobsen of Minneapolis; Mrs. Karl Woodman of Louisville, Mrs. Dale Briggs, Walla Walla, and Vivian Alt of Amanda Park, Wash. Mr.

and Mrs. Alt are long time residents of the Letcher vicinity. They were married in Mitchell Jan. 10, 1912. Retired Presho Farm Couple Marks Golden Wedding Date Pickstown Aid Society Installs New Officers By Republic News Service PICKSTOWN In a candle lighted service Mrs.

Conrad R. Paulson installed the officers of the St. Paul's Lutheran Mission Aid Thursday evening, at the Fort Haa dall Church parlors. Mrs. John Moen assumed the obligations of the president; Mrs.

E. T. Jensen, vice president; Mrs. Marvin Bromberg, secretary; Mrs. Robert Dahlberg, treasurer; and Mrs.

Don Agrimson, historian. Mesdames Agrimson and Gene Baltz sang duets appropriate to each of the lighted stations. Mrs. Moen appointed Mrs. R.Alex- ander to serve on the news bulletin; Mrs.

Paulson, Christmas cards; Mrs. Bromberg, altar committee; and Mrs. Paulson, on the kitchen committee. Adopted as projects for the year were cradle roll and Christian nurture with Mrs. Gene Baltz, chairman; Missions, Mrs.

Richard Carleton; and charities, Mrs. Gene Tyreus. Refreshments were served from an attractive winterscene table by the Mesdames Brombery and Moen. Install New Officers Of RNA At Fairfax By Republic News Service FAIRFAX The Royal Neighbors of Fairfax held regular meeting, evening, with 21 members present. After the regular routine of business, the officers for the ensuing year were installed, with Mrs.

Martha Mashek as installing officer, assisted by Mrs. Lulu Wolf as ceremonial marshal and Mrs. Cora Schoenrogge as assistant ceremonial marshal. The officers installed were oracle, Mrs. Lanora Ren; vice oracle, Mrs.

Tharsilla Pratt; recorder, Mrs. Stazia Piper; receiver, Mrs. Edna Jackson; chancellor, Mrs. Kathryne Hoffman; marshal, Mrs. Mamie Stevenson; assistant marshal.

AND MRS. THEODORE BOSCHEE and Mrs. Theo-i dore Boschee observed their 50th wedding anniversary last Wednesday. Mr. and Mrs.

Boschee were married in 1902 in South Russia, and mmigrated to Grand Forks, N. in 1905. They moved to Fulton two years later. Then in 1917 they bought land south of Presho, where they resided until recently, when they sold their holdings to A. C.

Miller and moved to Presho. They have been active in the 3uilding of the new Zion Lutheran church and parsonage. Mrs. Boschee is a charter member of the Lutheran Aid. The couple has one son, Jake, and grandchildren.

Lutheran Women At White Lake Elect By Republic News Service WHITE LAKE Mrs. Richarc Evans was elected president St. Martin's Lutheran Ladies Aid society at a meeting Jan. 9 at the home of Mrs. Alma Brandwiecb.

Mrs. Orville Hengen was namec vice president; Mrs. Gus Beutner treasurer and Mrs. Art Bradwisch secretary. At the close of the business meet tog, the remainder of the time was fiven to Rev.

Persa for devotions and topic readings. The next meet- will be at the home of Mrs Herb Glissendorf. Donations Made By Carthage Auxiliary By Republic News Service members answered roll call when the American Legion auxiliary met Jan. 10. Mrs.

Clem Herron read the opening prayer. During the business meeting, cash donations were voted to the Girl Scouts, Abbott House and March of Dimes. Mrs. Elmer Anderson drew the attendance prize and Mrs. Lloyd Jones received the visitors' prize.

The altar was decorated with yellow roses and baskets of salmon gladioli and a lighted candelabra.

The double ring ceremony was performed by Rev. Wm. Haak, pastor church St. John's Lutheran Yankton, before 180 guests. The ring bearer, David Jacobsen, carried the rings.

The group planned for a question box, and voted to send library books to the flood district of Kansas. entertained at a dinner Sunday. Their guests were Mrs. Susie Erickson and son Luvem, Mr. and Mrs.

Lloyd Erickson, Harry Walker and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Brandenburg and Donn Lee. The flower girls wore blue taffeta formats with matching head dresses of pink net and pink carnations. The bridegroom was attended by Rev.

Walter Holm of Curtis, as best man, and Donald Jacobsen. Following the ceremony, a ception was held at the home of the bride's parents, south of Dallas, for 75 relatives and close friends. The decorations were yellow and white and the three-tiered cake and lighted candles adorned the bride's table. Mrs. Herman Schueneman poured and Mrs.

Otto Jacobsen served cake. Mrs. Wm. Hinken of Burke, assisted by Betta Winters, had charge of the refreshments. Delia Mea Hamilton had charge of the gifts and Miss Ruth Mehner, the guest book.

Mrs. Ernest Gruhn presided at the punch bowl. The bride is a graduate of the Dallas high school and the nurses' training school at Sacred Heart Hospital at Yankton. Since her graduation she has been employed at the Burke hospital. The bridegroom, in preparation for the ministry, attended college at Concordia, and was graduated in May, 1950 from Concordia College, Springfield, m.

Following his graduation he was assigned to the Gregory pastorate. The couple left for a two weeks wedding trip and on their return will be at home in the Lutheran parsonage in Gregory. PLAN OPEN HOUSE By Republic News Service EMERY Mr. and Mrs. George J.

Mrs. Olthoff and Mrs. Terveen are sisters. arrested old age pensioner Oral E. Wilgus, 75, for stealing 50 cents from a March of Dimes collection pot.

Officers searched the pensioner and found he was carrying $1,970.47, much of it in $100 bills. He i.ife savings and that he carried it jvith him because he didn't trust banks. ENTERTAINS BRIDGE CLUB By Republic News Service LAKE ANDES Mrs. W. E.

Announcement has been made of the engagement of Miss Agnes Erne to Walter Dunn of Plankinton.

Miss Erne is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Erne of Watertown.

She is a graduate of St. Joseph's School of Nursing, and until recently was a resident of Mitchell. She is now employed in Plankinton.
