After the regular business was taken care of, Mrs, Oasklns was Introduced by Mrs. G. A.

Smith, chairman ot the Music soctlod, who had charge of the evening's program. Mrs. Smith dwelt upon the necessity of music In the club to help in its success also that friendliness in the club waa a valuable asset to the club's- promotion. The need tor something outside ot the home activities that will give the wife and mother an opportunity for a fortnightly vacation from heV regular routine. Xrrlve Home from Convention Mr. and Mrs. Emett Howard arrived homo yesterday morning from Quebec, Canada, where Mr. Howard attended, the 60th anniversary convention of the Traveler's Insurance Co. The trip was very much enjoyed, the weather being much milder than they had anticipated.

The convention was attended by a large assemblage of delegates from various places and was very Interesting. Arrive In Car from Helena, Mont. Mr. and Mrs. J.

J. Loach and son arrived here last night from Helena, motoring through In their car they stopped for a visit at Rap- Id City, 8. D. The family have resided In Montana for past 15 years, Mr. Leach being a successful business man of that' place.

Their former home wag. In Vandalia, 111., and they are returning there to make their future home. At present they are the guests of Mrd. Loach's brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs.

C. C. Smith and family ot Penning avenue. Guests Depart for Mr. and Mrs.

C. H. Dowr and children and Mr. and Mrs. J.

Dowr of Taylorvllle, have departed for their homes after being the guests for several days of Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Yarhrough and family of Third, and Lbrena avenue. Collision of Machines A Starr touring car and a Ford car collided yesterday afternoon about five-thirty o'clock. Tho Starr was going south on Wood River avenue and turning east on Lorena, collided with a Ford car which was going north on Lorena avenue. The front wheels of the Starr car were completely demolished and the car was otherwise damaged considerably. The Ford cor received a broken bumper and a broken headlight. Wedding to Take Place Here On October the fourth tho wedding ot Miss Clara Triberger and William Booth of Louis will take place at the home ot Mr.

Smith. Ladles' Aid Society to Meet There will be a meeting of the Ladies' Aid society of tho First Presbyterian church to be held In the church parlors Thursday afternoon. Mrs. Ellis and Mrs. Heuer will be the hostesses.

Fellows Meet The Odd Fellows held their regular meeting last night In thoir hall. They havo made arrangements for an entertainment to be given Monday evening in their hall. They will entertain members, their friends and their families. This will be a booster meeting. A largo once Is anticipated.
