Bell, operator a pharmacy at 5140 Chester ave. for 44 years, showed he left $259,672, plus uriappraised real estate in Indiana, Ocean City, N. and Pasadena, Calif.

Mr. Bell, who was 70, died April 22. A sop, Robert Barker Bell, of Lans-dale, is principal beenficiary of the estate, which was tentatively valued at $117,000 when Mr. Bell's will was probated. The estate includes $60,900 TJ.

S. bonds, now valued-at $3000 German bonds, valued at $210 and $3000 Japanese bonds, valued at $896, reflecting a marked contrast in the economy and standard of living in the United States compared with the standard of living and economy in both of the two countries that were Aligned against the TJ S. in the Sec ond World War. Mr, Bell's pharmacy was the first store to be opened on Cnester ave. He established the business in 1906, when most of the area in West Philadelphia was still farming country.

His most famous customer, he an nounced on his 40th anniversary as a pharmacist, was Eamon de Valera, former Premier of Eire. Robert J. Bennett, S59 Farragut terrace, who died July tO in Atlantic City, left $157,847, according to the inventory, nied yesterday. He was a certified public accountant. Other appraisals filed: Bertah Stem, George P.

Bauer, Louis Alexander, $59,270, and Catherine Maguire, $36,690. Girl's Father Held For Shooting Youth Harvey Fox, 44, of Barto. was committed to the Montgomery County Prison, in Norristown, in default of $1500 bail yesterday by Magistrate Charles J. Gorman, of Norristown, on charges of assault with intent to kill Franklin Schlegel, 19, of BechtelsviUe, RD1. Cpl.

Herbert Hoffman, of the Col-legeville State police barracks, said Fox was captured yesterday morning on Route 83 near Monocacy, Berks county. He said Fox admitted shooting Schlegel in the home of Mrs. Robert Reid, in East Greenville, Tuesday night. Hoffman said the shooting followed an argument over Fox's daughter, Betty, 18, who had dated Schlegel. The latter is in Allen town Hospital.

His condition is not considered serious. Jailed for Threat To Oakes Widow NASSAU, Bahamas, Nov. 15 (UP). Nicholas Musgrove, taxi driver, was convicted in Supreme Court tonight on charges of attempting to extort $100,000 from Lady Eunice Oakes, widow of the murdered millionaire, Sir Harry Oakes. Musgrove was sentenced to Ave years at hard labor, after which deportation to his native Turks Island was recommended.

He was charged specifically with demanding 40,000 pounds sterling and $20,000 from Lady Eunice by threatening her with a fate, similar to that of Sir Harry, who was bludgeoned to death in July, 1943. The murder still is unsolved. Palumbo Confident Wife 'Will Be Back' Fran'i Palumbo. Philadelphia restaurateur and night club operator, said last night that he had by telephone yesterday with his wife, actress Kippee Valez, in Hollywood, and that he did not believe now that there would be a separation. "I'm sure she'll be back," he added.

Earlier, Kippee had announced in Hollywood that she and Palumbo had separated. When she last returned here after an argument between them, said, "Frank and I were reconciled and for a time were very happy. Later things did not go so well. I finally decided to return to Norristown Man Safe in Air Crash A Norristown man was one of five in a light Navy transport plane that failed on a take off and hit the water about 75 yards off the Sant Point Naval Air Station, near Seattle. He is John Francis Rupert, of 203 Poplar st; Another Pennsylvanian, Richard Curtis Keiter, of Route 1, Dillsburg, near York, also was Three of the five swam ashore, and two clung to the plane's tail and were picked up.

The accident happened Monday. Abraham Beitchman Abraham Beitchman, of 1918 E. Moyamensing- head of the waste material firm of A. Beitchman and Sons, 234 Queen for more than 50 years, died yesterday. He was 69.

Mr. Beitchman was the founder of Beitchman Lodge 17, Brith Sho-lom. He was active in the Zionist Organization of America. He is survived by five sons, Joseph, John, Lewis, Oscar and Michael; a Sylvia; three brothers; two sisters, and three grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.

Alexandria, Va. He was 78. Dr. McClellan was a former resident of Bethayres and at the time of his death lived at Burgunday Farm, Alexandria. He was dean of the Wharton School from 1916 to 1919, and was a former chairman of the university's council on athletics.

He was graduated from the univer sity in 1900 and received his doctorate degree in 1903. Dr. McClellan was a former presi dent of the University of Pennsyl vania Club of New York. He was consultant in engineering for the Public Service Commission of New York, and a former president of the American Institute of Electrical En gineers. In 1918 Dr.

McClellan served in the U. S. Food Administration and as director of public education in the Pennsylvania Council of National Defense. He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. H.

W. Carpenter and Miss Elizabeth Q. McClellan, both of 4502 Regent a brother, Col. Edwin N. McClellan, U.

S. Marine Corps, retired. of Honolulu, and a niece, Miss Jeanette M. Francis, of Alexandria. Funeral services will be held at 2 P.

He was a member of the 40th Ward Republican Committee for 35 years. He is survived by his wife, Edna a son, George; two daughters, Mrs. Florence Snyder and Mrs. Elizabeth McCorriston, and eight grandchildren. State Rep.

Ruben Nagel BEAVER FALLS, Nov. 15 (AP). State Assemblyman Ruben Nagel Beaver) died of a heart attack, today in his home at nearby New Galilee. He was 79. Representative Nagel was stricken while preparing for a trip to Philadelphia.

The State legislator represented the Second District of Beaver county in the State House of Representatives. He was re-elected to a sixth term in last Tuesday's general election. Mr. Nagel, a native of Perry township in Lawrence county, was a farmer and a justice of the peace for 12 years. He was first elected to the State Assembly in 1934 and was reelected in 1936, 1940, 1944, 1948 and 1950.

Mrs. Clifford J. Alberta Mrs. Mildred Goman Alberta, wife of Clifford J. Alberta, of 1600 Hampton Havertown, died Monday in Bryn Mawr Hospital after a brief illness.
