hospital will be taken immediately members of the hospital board decided at their monthly meeting Thursday This decision was reached after Dr Garland Pace superintendent reported the discovery of A bank account of $2500 of a patient who had died at institution in 1933 after nearly 16 years of care at the hospital The patient had no relatives and the money 'should rightfully go to the state to pay for the care he had received Dr Pace eaid The bank account was found by hospital officials In checking through records in an old safe Money bad been deposited in the bank in 1915 Dr Pace was authorized to request the attorney genere to take legal steps to obtain this money as well as to make necessary appli cation for guardianship of 'several other patients who have estates Purchase of a neW electro-cardiograph machine at a cost of $750 to be used in connection with insulin and metrasol treatments was authorized by the board The metrasol treatment a convulsive shock treatment which originated in Vienna was started recently and already some patients who were unaffected1 by the insulin are responding it was reported A new peak was reached during this season in the canning of fruit at the institution Dr Pace said A total of 47413 gallons of fruit was canned in the hospital kitchen under the direction of Chef Francis Olsen Expenditures during the $ast month totaled $2748887 Dr Pace reported This included salaries and wages $1276056 office expense $11058 travel $27592 maintenance $1053994 repairs $122103 and equipment $258084 Fees and Other cash receipts for September were
